I have a broken leg and am about to have my tenth surgery in 14 months. This surgery is going to be so bad, they sent me to a pain clinic to get signed up w/ them so i will get the appropriate meds after surgery. Now this is a workers comp injury. Happened 14 months ago and i was drug tested when it happened. i rarely smoke pot. i'm talking maybe twice a year. Just so happens, i smoked once about 2-3 weeks ago and again 3 nights ago. Now 3 nights ago, i didn't even get high. Took maybe 3 puffs. Well, had my signup at the pain clinic today, because my surgery is next week, and i be damned, they made me take a piss test. With all the doctors appts i've had in over a year, this is the first one i have had to take since the day i broke my leg. I wasn't prepared. Of course now this is a pain clinic. i'm sure they need to drug test to know what you've taken and are taking with the type of drugs they prescribe-hardcore pain meds such as morphine. Anyways, i'm hopeful that is the only reason they tested me, because it came after the questionnaire of what meds were i taking. They did not tell me in advance i would be tested. Just once I got in the room and my blood pressure was taken, the nurse said "follow me, we need to get a drug test." I didn't sign anything about a drug test or anything. They didn't make me empty my pockets or any of the other normal shit they do at drug screenings. I'm hoping this is just protocal for all new patients at a pain clinic and not just for workers comp cases. Maybe they won't report back to workers comp or my employer about their findings, i'm not sure. They got me fuckin paranoid as hell. I'd like to smoke some right now. I'm still not sure i had enough to even show up on a test. Now, does anyone have the expertise to let me know whether or not you think i'll pass this test. If it helps, i'm 31, 6'1, weigh 235, and have only smoked pot maybe 8 times in my life. Metabolism was very high before the injury. Of course I've gotten lazy and gained 35 pounds in the past 14 months since I can't walk. Really the only exercise I get is from sex and using my crutches. I do drink plenty of energy drinks and caffeine. before 2 or 3 weeks ago, i didn't smoke any in the last 6 months. I also take antibiotics and one of those makes my piss turn oragish-red so there really was no chance of diluting. Someone please let me know cause i'm worried here.

basically to sum up all what i just said, i'm not sure if the drug test they gave me was for workers comp or just something they need to do because of the strong pain meds they deal with.

You will test positive but they should be able to tell that your not a chronic user because your levels will be low. They may give you a hard time and make you submit to further testing in the future.

Sorry to hear about how bad your injury is or was, I broke both legs and had a few operations but not 10. My left tibial plateau split into 5 pieces.

I have been using MMJ for almost 5 years now, I could not stand being on pharma crap all the time. Too many side effects.

I figured as little as i have ever used, within a few more days, it should be completely gone. Way i figure it, if workers comp gives me shit about it, i'll deny all and demand another test. 3 tokes for someone inactive and never uses still shouldn't last too long in urine. right?

If your are lucky the second test will be lower than the cutoff, but the metabolites stay in your system approx. 10 days for casual thin healthy user.

The more I think about it, the less worried i am. I'm more worried about what i did 3 weeks ago. The other night, it was some shitty joint my wife rolled and i think i smoked more paper than anything.
