UFO Lights
Hi all, my friend and I are having a talk about these new 90 watt 90W WATT LED UFO GROW LIGHT claims the Wavelength: Red light 620-660nm; Blue light: 440-470nm; Warm white 4,500 Kelvin
These lights are so chhep and cost nothing to apy for hydro.
My question is, how come not every grower is using them??
I currently have 1000 and 600 and 400 running and pay about $500 per month in hydro for 8 lights total.
Are these lights worth the cost of the change over???
Thanks.sccrocks Reviewed by sccrocks on . why not ? well, in my case, while I have been shown photos of real nice, small 'sea of green' buds, etc., I still have never seen a bushy, high-yielding indoor plant with LEDs ... but, I will buy one, if I see the results I want :smokin:

Hello scrocks,
I have used LEDs for a couple of years now, one of the biggest problems are the exagerated claims of most LED sellers. While the UFO style LEDs are getting cheaper they really don't come close to the claims they make and many people get real disappointed in them real fast. Plus they are real crap chinese mfg.
Even good LED lights, like Procyon and TI Pro-Blooms, lack the penatration of HID lights. Like ImageReaper pointed out, great results if you grow SOG (2' or less) but you'll never do a 4' plant without resorting to side lighting.

oldmac knows his LED stuff, too  ... in fact, I think it was his 'sea of green' grow, that impressed me ... regardless, LED is definitely the coming thing, especially with electricity rates likely to skyrocket ...

Whats up sccrocks...
Ive just recently switched over to LEDs and am lovin them. I was worried at first but after following a thread on here i finally bought one.
I mainly switched to LED to solve my heat issues. I had to tap into my homes AC duct for my closet and had to have my ac on a little bit more than normal to have my temps in a good range. Now with the LED I dont need the AC and I was able to cut down a few of my fans in the closet. I even took my digital temperature thing out of the closet...dont need to constantly check temps anymore. Plus they are so much more energy efficient.
For my situation LEDs are king. For you maybe not. It all depends on your needs.
Also I recently read an article in High Times about the 90w UFO and they did a side by side grow vs. a 400w hps and to their surprise the 90w UFO outgrew and outflowered the HPS. They also named the supernova LED ufo gear of the year or some crap... dont remember the exact details as I was pretty baked.
But for sure most resellers out there claim outrageous shit so that you will buy their LEDs. So shop around and do some research to find the right wattage LED panels for your grow.
I think within a few years we will see more and more people switching to LED from HID once the LED grow technology matures and progresses with better diodes and what not..
DISCLAIMER: everything I post and say are lies. I am simply roleplaying. All photos were found on the internet and/or fake!! I do not grow or use anything illegal.

sorry, but I don't believe much of ANYTHING that is touted in 'High Times', especially their phonyass cannabis cups :wtf: ... they are all about rewarding their heavy advertisers, (just like lots of magazines do) ... read it, enjoy it, but, with healthy skepticism ... :smokin:

hi guys
ive a friend who knows a thing or two about led lights and he was telling me that untill the proper colour of diode can be made they will never be up where a hps is in terms of depth of growth and flower thickness!
peace and love

Thanks to one and all for the info. I think i am going to stick with my current system. Right now I am growing for 5 clients and have total license for 186 plants. We are running 6 /1000 w and 3/ 600 and 4 /400 and our light bill is average past 6 months around $700.00 per month. Shit last crop only got 26.5 grams per plant, so lose money, so no can do if you know what I mean.
In spite of the fact we are a compassion club we still need to make enough to pay our costs.
I am going to start a grow Journal for the newest endevour, gonna try airo this time with 50 plants. Have rooms set up ready for clones.
Again thanks the input.
Pay It Forward

Led do not begin to come close to hid if so everyone would use them and the ufo is junk the only one that does even a little is the procyon and what about all these $2,000 LED lights in the mags? im sure maybe in years to come they will get there but i would not waste the money and just do what you know will work till things get to that point. If you are some young kid that geeks off of a plant with any bud then led will be good but for someone who cant waste expensive nutes on a crap amout of nothing they need to stick to the real deal
