usually once a lady is pollinated the plant puts all it's energy into producing viable seeds. this is important because cannabis is an annual plant. it's whole point is to grow, reproduce and then die. the female flowers on a female are supposed to catch pollen. they start to grow larger because they are trying their best to catch that pollen.

we know nothing about your setup or anything else. there are many factors that go into finishing times and potency. trichomes just don't show up over night, they gradually start forming and continue til the plant dies. there are many theories as to the function of the trichomes, including protection against uv rays and predators. these factors wouldn't be important so important if the plant already has procured the next generation.

plants with buds that size should be covered in trichs.

no one can give you a definitve answers. sounds like you already have your mind made up and are waiting for an opinon to validate your decision.
