    veg lighting advice needed

I'm unsure of what light to use for my veg cycle. I don't have much money left over so I'm unable to buy a MH setup.

Will my plants survive vegging under a 600W HPS? OR......

I was looking at a two bulb t8 fixture from home D. would that offer anywhere near what I need?

I'm only running two girls in DWC and my room is about 12x12ft. Could someone please recommend an affordable solution that wont make my yeild or quality suffer?

you're gonna want to cut that room size down. get some panda film and some 2" x 4"s. a 600W HPS will cover a 4' x 4' area, although it would do better in a 3' x 3'. either way, plenty of space for your two ladies.

you can use the HPS from start to finish.

are you starting from seed or clone? if you are starting from seed you are playing roulette unless you go femmed. if you do go seed (not feemed) you should expect a 50/50 ratio of males to females, in theory. if you only start two seeds you might be dissapointed once sex shows. cloning is an option once you get a verified female.

you can use some of the other space of your room as a veg/mom area. a t-8 would work, but a t-5 would be better. or you could just go with some CFLs.

    good growing!

I'll probably start from clone if my dispensary has any good ones; usually, they look kind of sad so I may start with seed if that's the case. I'll give my HPS a try- My hood is air cooled so hopefully I can get the light close enough so they don't stretch out too much.

When cutting my room size down could i simply run a string from wall to wall and fold some panda film over that creating a divider?

well for flowering you are going to want to make sure that your ladies get 12 hours solid of uninterrupted darkness. if you can do it with string then so be it.

you might want to frame out a 3' x 3' or 4' x 4' with 2" x 4"s and wrap the whole thing in plastic. just an idea. there are not set rules. go with what works.
