Don't use a chemical, made in a lab, kind of fert, like Peter's or Schultz for example. Those are chemical ferts that really should be dissolved in water, then added to the soil. But a good idea, especially for organics, is to use a fert like Foxfarm Fruit and Vegetable or Whitney Farms Organic. These tend to have NPK ratios of 5-5-5 or close to it, and they also have the bacteria and fungi necessary to break the ferts down to a molecular level that can be absorbed by the roots. Putting these ferts in soil isn't bad like some folks think. In fact just the opposite, as these ferts are actually designed to work with a plant like this type. I'd suggest you get a box of something mentioned here, or maybe Dr. Earth brand, and put one cup of fert mixed with about two gallons of soil in a 5 gallon bucket, then finish filling the bucket with another 2-3 gallons of soil along with one more cup of fert, mixing both fert cups in real well. Then just add your plant and water, and more water when it gets dry. Then all you need to do is have patience and wait. You'll get the results you want.
Some folks seem to think that the more complex you make your grow the better it will be, but alot of people keep having problems when it doesn't need to be that way. Good growing.
