Fox Farm Big Bloom

so to improve my growing i figured its time to get some real good nutes for flowering. THE BIG BLOOM! most of my growing in the past has gone well, besides for a few times in flowering i experienced the same thing- from week 5-8- i noticed a super slow grow, almost stopped. my last grow was the best yet, but there still was not full dense buds..almost a little stringy, but the potency was there.
this time around i'm convinced to grow some nice dank buds. My germ and veg was good as usual- i have, in the past, used miracle grow nitrogen and its been great, so i have continued to use it. i flushed the soil 2.:1 going into flowering. now, before used these b.s phosphorus pebbles to help flowering, but like i said i didnt have much luck..so finally i gave up on it and now i have the Big Bloom. i want to do this right, so if i end up with the same product in the end i know it is not the nutes..its definitely me!
-----> this is where i start to become unsure. it said to start it off with a half cup per gallon...so i did. My pot has a few cracks and small holes for drainage. it is a 2.5 gallon pot. When i water i used about a half gallon- or a little less- and there was little drainage afterwards. Now i assume that is good right, since the nutes are holding in the soil and there is still little drainage to release backup minerals/nutes? It does not say how often to water with nutes, i was thinking 2 times a week? Am I suppose to flush it only one more time, a week before my harvest, or should i do it twice-in the middle of the flowering cycle and at the end?
As of now my plant has been responding very well, i have made 2 changes to my grow- the co2 boost and now I changed my nutes. i am towards the middle/end of week 2 flowering. there are nice white hairs everywhere, but see no crystals yet.

I would Be Using Foxfarm Open Sesame, Beastie Budz, And Cha Ching! All formulated for the whole flowering cycle! I use Big Bloom For my Veg Mix Your ready for the Floweering Trio Now! You will see a huge differnce over the big bloom which is more of a veg Nute anyway! Nowhere near enough P and K to be an effective flowering nute!! Love the stuff as One of my supplements for Veg Though!!! Happy growing

wow thats awesome, i spent a little while looking through the site when i got the big bloom. i couldnt find too many products that i was looking for..maybe i was a bit too high. thanks for the names of the products, i found em and am going to take the advice.

try tiger bloom in the beginning i'll say for about four weeks of flowering then combine both Cha Ching and tiger bloom but remember not to mix the nutes together in the same bottle :thumbsup:

I e-mailed them a while back, and was informed by Fox Farms that the micronutes are in the Grow big and Tiger Bloom. And that the Big Bloom is a catalyst (an organic tea) formulated to work with both Grow Big in veg, and Tiger Bloom in flower, per their feeding schedule.

Am curious where you got the 1/2 cup per gallon idea from, as their feeding schedule doesn't mention it as a stand-alone nutrient, and max listed dilution rate is 2 tablespoon per gallon in veg. (per week) The link to the FF feeding schedule is in my signature. A handy chart that you can print and reference on feeding days.

Not sure how you'd use it with another product or as a stand alone, as that's not it's intended use. Likely as an organic tea additive, but little more. Mixing with products from a different company, you risk overdoing it or a wasteful redundancy.

i was taught open sesame was for inducing flower...only for 2 weeks or so? have you had good results using it throughout flower?

i dont think he meant 1/2 cup but a 1/2 tsp,grow big doesnt have any source of calcium so you probably want some tiger with bb thats what i use to do and as for cha ching your also missing calcium and thats why you use it with tb

Anyway, the solubles are additives for specific uses and applications, in conjunction with the nutrient regimin, lacking in the micro's, and nutrient levels are shifted to accompolish these goals. They are not stand-alone nutes.

the tiger bloom can be as it has all the micros you need but low on phosphate so i add cha ching more later in flowering ill say about the third or fourth week,hope that help

To begin week three of the Fox Farms Feeding Schedule you will need Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom in the liquid/concentrates and Beasty Bloomz in the solubles. You will only need to add nutes and ph'd water every other watering. The waterings between feeding just water with ph'd water only. Some add molasses to the ph'd water at a tsp per gallon during this watering.
A word to the wise about the Fox Farms solubles; 1/4 tsp is plenty mixed with the liquid/concentrates at full strength every other feeding.
Another thing to think about is the genetics of the strain you are growing will have a lot to do how hard the buds will be at the finish. If you have four or five different strains under the same light, feeding schedule ect. some strains will form hard buds and the others will not. The straines that form hard buds will do so time after time while the airy bud plants will do likewise everytime.
