    soil ph??

    Hey all

Never used to PH if i had a problem strain ,i just would not grow it,but now i try to PH because i see the effects and i want to grow other strains..

S o i thought i had this figured out i feed and water at about 6.4...
I use PRO-MIX got HP this time thought it was BX ,but i see they are both limed for adjusting PH..

I was watering and i thought i would check the run off..
It was going in at about 6.4 and coming out at around 5.7 -5.9.
So i thought this meant that i was over nuting//
So i water a plant that had no nutes in soil and it's runoff was about 5.9
I took some soil right from bag and ran water at 7 throw it and it came out at 5.9,i am thinking this is pretty low. i thought it should be about 6.5.

I s this what i thought i knew right or am i missing something??

You were right that if you run water at pH=7, that your runoff should be around 6.5-6.8. That would indicate that the soil pH is above 6.0 (hopefully above 6.2).

    Ingoing water pH =7
    Runoff mixture pH = 5.9
    =
    Soil pH = around 5.0

Seems like you'll need to invest in some pH up to correct soil pH.
    Just my :twocents:

    Thanks for your reply DOUG
Well the PRO-MIX already is limed for PH and is to be for plants 6-7
