lumens is a measurement of how we see light-nothing to do with plants, sorry mate!!

I don't even understand your logic busybee. Instead of just refuting the information, how about you provide an explanation of what we should be talking about then. If it isn't lumens, then what should we be caring about in light selection?

It has always been my understanding that lumens are the measurement of the power of light at a given distance. This would directly relate to plants because of the inverse square law. It says that: Intensity=light output/distance^2. (light output being measured in lumens, and intensity is power available) So, the further away your plants are from the source, the less energy they receive. Less energy would equate to less growth. Pretty important to know.

I believe that the discussion of lumens is very pertinent to growing plants indoors because science and experience have taught us that there is a minimum amount of lumens that cannabis will require to thrive in an indoor environment.

After thinking more about what you said, were you trying to say that PAR watts should be considered and not lumens? If so, I understand, I just don't agree that lumens have NOTHING to do with plant growth. It is a measurement that is readily available on all lights, and applied to growing, it's an easy system to figure out how much light is enough light.

We were mentioning how halogens were not efficient sources of light so PAR wattage is a valid discussion. However, you could have provided a little more than just "sorry mate".
