Since males need to come out early to pollennate females . Like about two weeks into flower. To make a good seed crop. These banana's will at best only pollenate a very few flowers being sooo late in the flower process. Very high priced seeds.

The breeders have to collect banana's and keep them to pollenate plants that are about 2 to 3 weeks into flowering.
:thumbsup:thanx loc nar,this may explain something,last year i bought a v.small amount of "cheese" from a friend,it had 5 seeds in it,all turned out female-i could'nt believe my "luck"!!:jointsmile:
busybee Reviewed by busybee on . have you seen a hernie like this ? I have sexed my own plants for 20 years now before setting outside. I would obviously have some hermies, they were always the same an indivdual branch or top would flower male easy to find- today while picking caterpillars off my plants I found this hermie in attached photo- It is a Blueberry from feminized seeds by Dutch Passion this is the second of this strain to go hermie on me- the plant is 5 weeks into flower with male flowers showing up in all the buds- unfortunetly it looks like this Rating: 5
