with that test kit you can't add you nutes and then adjust the pH. the nutes distort the test results (if that is indeed what you are doing).

    Headshake,

Water is prebottled in 2 quarts (from our water purifier 6.3-6.5) then 1/4 teaspoon MG All Purpose is added (pH raises to 6.5-6.7). Am I doing this right or wrong ?

Thanks for Reading Stay Up

deleafer2220 my (Man or Woman) I wish you much success In Your Grow. It Looks Good. One Question Though I see your using a color chart test kit, and if I read your post correctly you checked the ph after adding your nutrients. While your 6.5 number is a great one for a soil grow. I am wondering how accurate it could be since nutrients seem to not all be clear. I have found after the nutrients are mixed in, that getting an accurate read is diffucult with the color change of what your testing. I would highly reccomend getting an inexpensive Digital Ph Meter so you can be rest assured that your ph is good for your (hopefully) Young Ladies there.

I have this one and like it, and for under $25.00
Milwaukee pH600 pH Meter Tester Aquarium Hydroponics - eBay (item 230371268056 end time Sep-24-09 23:00:48 PDT)

Now mind you this is simply a recommendation the choice is yours. I'm simply saying what I know to work good and not cost an arm and a leg. and since you have a manual color test kit I would use that to calibrate your meter with. Just with clear pure tap water or whatever water your using b4 nutrients.
But I dont want you to think you did anything wrong. when your feeding your babies do like you did and add your nutrients and then check your ph.
Its just when your calibrating your meter and you dont have a calibration solution handy I would first test your water with the manual color test. to see what # you need to dial your meter in with.

    Hope I didnt confuse you.

and once again My best wishes with your babies there. (congrats on the triplets)

    420barista,

For some reason or another its hard to find the digital readers where im at. Ive gone to wal-mart, petsmart, petworld, and various other locations. Therefore i went with what i could lol. My 1st choice deff. was a digi one, but when you can't find it its another story. Well off to enjoy some of gods creations. Will update every watering for those wondering and following.

Thanks Everyone for advice and Stay Up :rastasmoke:

    Greenatik,

Lol for what its worth im using MG all purpose which is a light baby blue pellet in color. Does any one think that this is throwing my readings off ? Even so all in all plants still looking healthy to me, minus the one in the middle which is slightly coming back from major wilting yesterday.

On another note had some new growth today and up to 5 points on leaves and up to 3rd or 4th nodes. Once i hit 5 or 6 i am planning to LST the babies (any advice would be great, have done major readings for this grow and do not want to mess it up hah). Might have a small root problem with oxygen getting to them. Will make bigger holes in bottom on new transplant. Deff all 3 indicas from what i can tell too.

Thanks again for you input and stay up :rasta:

So im a day or two late on update but have been very busy. Plants are looking good IMO, all green and "praying". I have a bad feeling I am going to be dealt with 1 female and 2 males, due to two being lanky and one short bushy one. Averaging 80-85F Daytime 80-75F Nighttime. Will increase nutes next watering, but not before another transplant for all of them. Im lost on how many days its been it seems like a lost space of time :stoned: but im guessing mid way through veg cause im on 5th set of nodes ?

lookin good. imo one of the most important gadgets to invest in is a Hanna EC/PH/Temp hand meter (Hanna Combo pH/EC/TDS/Temperature Meters - Meters & Data Acquisition - Earth & Environmental - Carolina Biological Supply Company)

these sweet little things save you a ton of probs down the road if used correctly(lockup, local water PH swings, nute burns). The other benefit is that you can scientifically fine tune your approach in a lot of different ways when you want to tinker. For example I experimented with dropping the PH of my rockwool to 6.0 before taking clones and transplanting and got the timing demarcated to a t.

Costs a bit, but the problems that it has the tech to diagnose and repair make it an invaluable tool.
