    Clear hosing a problem?

I was looking around online and saw a few things about clear containers being exposed to light growing algae and stuff. I was wondering if the nutrient solution runs through plastic tubing and is exposed to the light if I will face the same problem?

    Thanks ahead of time!

    Light + Water = Algae.

So yes, you'll get algae growing in on the inside of the tube over time.

It just seems to be made of really crappy plastic, the connections seem terrible and the clear rubber hosing fits my fittings perfectly.

Also what about white pvc? Should I paint that too?

there's other places to get black hosing. look for the stuff they use in liquid cooled PCs or something. the spray paint will rub off and still exposed your water/nutes to light.

no need to spray paint the PVC as it's not transparent (or translucent).
