Slight plant problem...Any ideas what it might be or how to treat??
Ok....got some photos here and a couple of questions...First picture is of healthy upper main stem for comparing to photo 2 & 3....Unlike the bright green of the first picture, the lower portion of the stem seems to be flaking..almost like the stem is shedding, underneath these tan color peeling its still a pale green color, but the leaves attached to the the stem at these portions have turned yellow and died away (lost 2 sets of leaves, still have 9 sets that appear healthy). The plant is about 45 days old and a little under 10inches high...Not sure if this will continue to spread up the plant, so any ideas of what may be happening here? The last picture I included to show the preflowers of one of the upper nodes that is beginning to grow and was wondering if anyone could say wheather it looks female or male by looking at that. Thanks in advance for any ideas on this.

Slight plant problem...Any ideas what it might be or how to treat??
saw the troubleshooting form thingy and decided to provide back with the info. .....Still all new so i dont know maybe its normal, and I know its hard to see what im talking about on the lower stem, but its like when you get a sun burn and your skin peels is the best way to describe what it looks like, and I'm scared if i dont do something or find the cause it will continue working its way up the plant. Anyways thanks again in advance for any advice for me as Ive never done this before.
What is your experience level? This is my first grow
Your Equipment:
Out doors
Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...) Potting soil and organic Humus mixture
.8) Size of container. 4 dry gallons
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting? mix of rain and tap water Not sure how to test the PH
11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...)
13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. For 2 weeks used water/molasses/ 3-1-2 mix , then switched to 1-2-1 , only using 1/16th of tsp of the N-P-K, and now just water/molasses mixture
14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering? watering once every 2 or 3 days ranging from 3 to 4 oz each watering
15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...) molasses
16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate? Not sure how to check
17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray? No
Your growroom:
Outdoor
Your strain:
23) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?) dont know
24) From seeds or clones? seed
25) Is this an autoflower strain? dont know

Slight plant problem...Any ideas what it might be or how to treat??
Pretty sure this is 100% normal. From what I've seen after awhile the base of the stem hardens up and almost looks like it has a papery bark type coating. I'm guessing its just to protect from bugs and give some extra support as the buds up top get heavier, and its normal for lower and older leaves to get yellow and die as there is less light for them to consume and are not needed anymore.
I'm fairly amateur myself so until someone else more experienced gives you the green light you might not be out of the woods just yet, but I'm quite sure you and your lady are gonna be just fine.

So its been a couple of days and I just wanted to follow up. So I think you guys were right because the plant seems to be doin just fine...its continued to grow and from soil to top its gotten to about a foot high..checked the pH and its about 6.5-6.8 the preflower branches are getting quite long now too. Any ways i provided a top view and a side veiw here. Only problem now is the Sun refused to come out today and its been rainy, so i put it under some lights. Getting close to 50 days old and Im hoping she starts flowering sometime this month. Anyways thanks for this site, its really awesome learned alot from reading the threads here. Take care guys and gals.:jointsmile:

I'd pick a spot, and keep them there. Switching back-n-forth from indoors to outdoors is a great way to stress the plant (uneven lighting schedule and light spectrums) and is a great way to introduce stuff like insects, spiders, roaches...into your home. The bugs hide under leaf litter, and in the drain holes under the pot.

Slight plant problem...Any ideas what it might be or how to treat??
Just thought i would update you guys on the plant....she is now about 14 inches and I can say for certain now that she is female YAY. The white hairs have emmerged, which leads me to a new question. The white hairs have come out only on the top 4 nodes of the plant, none of the other nodes are showing these white hairs...is this is problem? or will the other nodes begin to show later into the cycle? this is only day 5 of the first white hair showing.
Thanks again guys for making my first grow so exciting :thumbsup:

Nodes come into maturity in a progression. It seems to be top to bottom. And your original 'problem' was just... bark! No problem at all~
