Would those be the plants your avatar shows?. If so, they are very similar. In fact, my seeds actually came from south of LA near Escondido. I have another variety growing in another area, it turned out to be some sort of hybrid(some seeds)with purple flowers.

Also, the white pistils turn red upon drying/curing plant variety #1.

I began with good seed stock back in March here in Illinois indoors. They are now in the beginning stages of flowering as per photo taken 2 days ago after transplantation outdoors back in May.
