I stopped listening to AM/FM radio years ago and it was one of the best musical decisions I ever made. Now I hear about new acts through going to shows, music blogs, reviews etc... My music collection has grown immensely in all kinds of genres, and bands I'd never hear on the radio. Especially now that ClearChannel and Disney own about 85% (if not more) of all the major radio stations on the air.

Internet radio is a different story however, there are some great stations out there. I've become particularly fond of SUB.FM which specializes in dubstep, dub, grime, garage, and deep house.. with more emphasis on the dubstep. Another one is twincitiesradio.net which hosts a lot of great music coming out of the Minneapolis area but also other midwest based artists. I'm actually interning at the studio that does thier live sessions a few times a week. Great stuff they play on there Jazzy J, the owner has quite an ear for talent.
