    Personally, I like bubble bags.

Do it a li'l different, though.

    I insulate 2. 5 gal buckets.
I put the sieving bags in the bottom bucket with an aquarium pump under them.
(Keeps stuff out of the pump)
I put the sugar leaf and popcorn buds that have been dried and cured and left in the freezer for a day, into the top bucket with the ice.
All inside the coarse filter bag. (keeps stuff out of the spigot)
    [attachment=o225938]
That's how it looked prior to moving the blue bag to the top bucket.
And all it took for me to figure that out, was a half frozen hand from clearing weed out of the spigot.

The top bucket has a spigot that drains the water and resinballs into the sorting screens by gravity.
Once through the screens, I return the ice water to the mush with my pump.
I use a paint stirring wand on a cordless drill the molest da mush.
and it's relatively easy to adjust the "mushiness" on the fly.
    Works a treat.

Couple or three beers later, we get the raw material.

I squeeze mos' o da water out, blot with paper towel, wrap in saran, wrap dat in newsprint, and tape to da inside bottom of my shoe.
Den I go walk da dog.
    'Bout 2 miles later?
Bes' damn hash I ever had.
(And, I've been around some, 40 odd years).

Had an ol' fren' visit from da mainland last week.
He's been blazin' for 30 years.
Did Amsterdam twice, has a high tolerance.
Says this is the first time ever that he was completely unable to drive after 1 hit!:rastasmoke::stoned:
It's all in the raw materials. The buds that this trim came from was OUTSTANDING!

Hmm, I'm gonna go hit dat, right now.

    Thanks Weez!

I just pulled an entire hybrid plant due to concerns about the other female plants flowering in close proximity. I'll try a variation of your method and let you know how it turns out.

Sunbiz, hope you don't mind -- I think we should pick Weez's brain about this a bit.

Weezard, would you show us the spigot for the top bucket? Is this a DIY job on a "Homer" bucket or something premade? Could you maybe use an Igloo water cooler? (insulated already, has a (tiny) spigot)

And could you elaborate a bit about the aquarium pump? (style/capacity) That's a pretty healthy return flow you've got going back to the top bucket. As slow as the bubblebags drain, seems like the pump might run dry. (?) Is that a problem? Sorry for my ignorance, but I was a poor kid and never had an aquarium. All I had was a stinky turtle. Other kids gettin' neons, guppies...all I got was salmonella. Don't know NOTHIN' about no fancy-ass aquarium pump.

And you are agitating your mush inside the work bag with the paint paddle, yes? (Risking snarling up that bag if you're not careful, is what I'm asking...)

Thanks in advance. This looks like a great way to rinse every last trichome out of the mush without having to run 20 gallons of water through the sieving system.

    Left over bubba bucket.
I had installed a spigot that I bought on da bay.
It was intended to make nute change-out easier.
Installed it a little low and it kept getting bumped and leaking.
When it turned out that I was actually too lazy to ever change out my nutes, I retired the Damp thing.

But, one can buy 7 gallon buckets with the spigots installed at brew supply places for about $25.

Could you maybe use an Igloo water cooler? (insulated already, has a (tiny) spigot)

That works perfectly if you put the mush in the coarse bag first. Otherwise that spigot will clog immediately.

And could you elaborate a bit about the aquarium pump? (style/capacity) That's a pretty healthy return flow you've got going back to the top bucket. I mis spoke 'bout dem pump.
    It's a Submersible Fountain pump.
    Cheapest kine.
The GPH is not important. You can turn it off and on as needed.
    Same with the spigot.
Between the two you can keep the mush, just right.

And you are agitating your mush inside the work bag with the paint paddle, yes? (Risking snarling up that bag if you're not careful, is what I'm asking...)

And in a 5 gallon bucket, I have yet to snag a bag.
The paint mixer/drill is just a laziness thing.
A large metal spoon works well as does a hardwood paddle.

Thanks in advance. This looks like a great way to rinse every last trichome out of the mush without having to run 20 gallons of water through the sieving system.
    Saves on ice too.
Once you knock off all the intact resin globules you could still get a decent buzz if you then dry the mush and cure it and smoke it.
    I don't.
I chop it and boil it in a pot of water with a pound of butter for an hour or so, strain it through a nylon "footie" and put it inna fridge till it hardens and seperates..
Then, I throw da spent mash in the compost pile with the big fan leaves..
    So rich, yah?!
That butter makes incredible cookies, because there have been plenty of globules ruptured before and during the mushing.
And that coats the sugar leaf with a film of resin that the ice mush does not harvest.
One can use an alcohol rinse, or butane, but I like the butter.
    Tastes mo' betta.

    Aloha

No problem!, thanks for interjecting as I almost lost track of this thread(seems this message board server is always down when I login during the morning). Looks like Weez has a pretty solid system going, I'm not quite that sophisticated yet. What I have tried(and this seems to take some practice)has been successful to a point. The silkscreen method is very labor intensive and takes a lot of weed. I then tried the blender/ice method, which works very well for smaller quantities.

What I have noticed is that trichomes are very easily disturbed, you can't just pick up a filtered blender smoothie and pour the water off the top as some would recommend. The water *must* be siphoned or you will lose the end product.

In a few weeks, I'll need a pump upon harvesting.

    Regards,

    Biz
