Headshake is on target so far...take heed.

A plant that size won't be affected by the time-release nutes nearly as dramatically as a smaller/younger plant...and they aren't flowering yet so definatelly no worries. It'll be fine. Refrain from nutes for a week and watch 'em after transplanting into larger containers.

Once in larger containers, it's easier to water, but aviod black pots outside if exposed to direct sun. (the collected heat will kill the roots) Keep any pot up off of the concrete or hardpan at all times for the same reason.

Water deep a couple of times a week, minimum. Add a quart, wait a couple of minutes...add a quart, wait a couple of minutes...add a quart, and so on till you get a bit of runoff. Lower roots need moisture too.
