VERTICAL REFLECTORS
For a 5.5 X 5.5 area with 1000W Horti what would be the better choice? VERTICAL REFLECTORS or ..... the shoe box looking reflectors, forgive me as I forgot the proper name for them.

VERTICAL REFLECTORS
Unless you're growing big trees in a circle around the bulb vertical reflectors suck. Horizontal ones whether it be a cool tube, or a standard rectangular (well more like trapezoidal) or the batwing type is better. There is no light coming out the end of a HPS bulb so those vertical umbrella shaped reflectors aren't really reflecting much of the light, the right way to use a bulb in a vertical fashion is to drop it a bit lower and surround it with plants so all that side lighting is hitting the sides of the plants. I think horizontal is more efficient and more versatile. But they might be a bit more expensive.
