    Need help with Drying/Curing problems

I've been using several glass jars with paper towels on the bottom and top of my plants. after about a week i've been noticing that a lot of hairs are turning brown and some of the leaves a darker color.

I have A LOT of crystals and hairs but i'm getting paranoid about the possibility of mold, I've left the lid off the jars for about 30 mins to an hour daily.

This is my first time drying however and i clipped the buds from the plant and placed them directly to the jars........am I making a mistake?

hi, when you say straight from plant to jar did you not do ANY drying first? the stems should be almost brittle before curing and then buds snipped off and jarred.

have a look around here loads of info on topic. good luck.:rasta:

    HELP!

    HUGE MISTAKE

Take them out of the jars. Put them on like a window screen to dry. Get a fan blowing air across them. dry them till the stem is dry and snaps or breaks not bend.

Now your ready to cure. Put dry buds in jar and open jar a few times aday or until you have no moister in the jar, like condensation.

When they are dry they can be smoked. Curing is what we do to make a more pleasant full bodied smoke for conesuoirs. Street smoke is dried not cured. No time to waste.

No we didn't do any drying.

I left some buds out on a paper towel just to experiment to see how they dry.

The hairs are turning brown but the buds look fine. I am not getting any condensation in the jars really but I will leave them out and blow a fan on them.

Thanks for your help, I hope all is not lost!

Remove immediately and get some ventilation going before mold starts.

Just inspected the buds....no real sign of mold. I've cut off a few of the leaves that look a little sick. I left several buds to dry over night and after about a week in the jar and a day left out over night they seem about ready to smoke.

If mold starts is there any way at all to stop it?

spray milk on the buds if you see gray mold.

There's something to the milk suggestion - do some research on it; I just caught a quick article awhile back and from I gleaned in my quick glance some of the enzymes attack and kill mold. However, do some research.
