That's because they went mainstream with their singles and didn't complain about anything.

NEW S.O.A.D ALBUM!!!!!!
yeah they are quite mainstream....but who gives a shit.....its bout the music not how popular they are......im in a bad mood cause my chicks really pissed me off but thats another thread......
it really pisses me off when people dont like bands because they have shit personalities, or because they wear masks and look stupid....or if they have a huge following......who cares......if you dont like music for that reason them you are a loser and you should probly think about why you like the music you do.....if you think its cool to like the music you do...grow up
.........if you dont like the music fair enough but if you dont like the people (image, personality) therefore dont like the music i think you need to grow up......this is not aimed at anyone i just had to get my feelings out and sorry if it didnt make sense or i repeated myself.....
sorry
oh and i really made this post so that you could hear the new song.......but discussion is good...

I mostly agree, but on the other hand: why do you care so much about what other people think about your taste in music?

Or something along those lines. There's always a caveat... the post which I've quoted having one of "I like Band X, so what if they're mainstream?". I think simply saying "I like Band X, peroid" would suffice nicely, and if any music snob has anything to say, they can fuck off.
I think I sort of forgot my point, because I lost an hour somewhere and can't find it, but I think it goes along the lines of "anyone who has to get defensive as to why they like a band or artist needs to be less self-conscious; and to heed their own advice and just like the music". By getting defensive, you end up letting popularity change your perception of the band, and that's the irony.

NEW S.O.A.D ALBUM!!!!!!
I like bands just for their music, but I have to admit, bands who try to portray themselves as being so incredibly evil or similar do not attract my interest. If people are total twats, who aim to sell stuff through their image rather than their actual music, I don't really want to listen to what they've made to be honest, whether they're popular or not.

you have a very good point there...i honestly wouldnt care if the bandsi liked were on tv all the time n shit....cause i would get to see them more but when people say this band i shit cause their on tv all the time (which i figure was part of your point) thats what pisses me off......

but my main point is......when people say a band is shit...meaning the music is bad....actually i just thought saying a band is shit doesnt mean the music is bad.....welll ill stop this stoned rambling now....and think about what i just thought about..........

sorry to double post but i just noticed you aksed me a question that i didnt answer......
i dont really....as i said above it annoys me when people say a band is shit when they arn't....just because you dont like the type of music or the attitude/messages of the band/music does not by any means mean the band is shit...that is what annoys me.why do you care so much about what other people think about your taste in music?
