1st of the Next Gen LED Lights
I saw you post this many days ago, but did not have a chance to comment till now.
I am allows leary of the wild claims made by some LED seller's and this is no exception. The claim that it would replace a 800w HPS is just the start but they say it will cover 2 square meters (abt 18 sqft) and then an area of 50"x60" which is 22.5 sqft is not possible, even if it was secondary coverage vs. primary. A 1,000 watt HPS could not cover that area, let alone 800w HPS not to even mention 190w of LED.
What is very interesting is trying to cool that much LED wattage without a fan, since the unit is 15"x20" I don't see how, even if the whole unit was aluminum at 1" thick, there just does not seem to be enough mass to defuse that much thermal heat.
Says made in america, but does not mention whose diodes they are using, just the competitors Cree's. I'd like to know what 6w diodes they are using and what wavelengths, just for curiosity. I am certainly sure the unit will not perform up to it's hype.
