Hello everyone! First timer with a space to use. It is 21in. deep by 76in. wide by 78in. high. I have read lots of stuff but am still confused, was thinking of using 400 watts and try the sea of green approach. What do you guys think? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. thanks!

start off with some smaller CFLs to get the plants started, then when they get big enough go ahead and get a 250w or 400w HPS lamp, just like shake said, those things get hot, so make sure to get some type of ventelation.

thanks for the advice, yes have definitly thought of ventilation. have a space that is 46in. high by22in. deep by 35in. wide that i was going to use to start off with some flourescents then finish off in the bigger space with the 400. how many plants can i grow starting in the smaller than finishing in the larger room?

again, depends? what method? what are your expectations? etc.

think about what you want/expect to accomplish (think also about your space here). read up on some different growing methods. look at advanced techniques to complement the growing technique of your choice.

as always though, cover the basics first. nutes, pH, lighting, ventelation, genetics somewhat, etc.

    good growing!
