I mixed special canola oil and tiger balm and it works
I mixed up some special oil and tiger balm and the combo really help my back, shoulder, and knee pain. As an FYI, special oil alone also works but the tiger balm seems to help it penetrate the skin.

Yeah, topical salves work great. The best I have seen is called Body Balm, I use it all the time. I get it from APC in SF.
