just say for how long you wish to be a non-member and it shall be done...

nothing personal but you'll most likely be waiting a long time for an email...he's a busy man.

Once a member, always a member ... the cann.com boards is like Hotel California

A mod can place your username into the banned user group to prevent any activity from your user name (removes it from the member list too I think) - however, your user name will remain on the system (and likely in Google, etc) along with all your posts; most all deleted posts are stored too.

I keep meaning to get around to posting a sticky emphasizing the message boards are a publishing medium, though that should be obvious already; one should assume anything they post will be seen by numerous others, indefinitely into the future.

Oh I'm going to really digress here ... a work (written, oral, etc) once disseminated (shared) with others, even if only in a restricted capacity (ie. in a membership only area; to subscribers only, etc), becomes property of the community as a whole - that's the primary reason why the U.S. Copyright Office requires two copies of most works for registered copyrights ... in short, one doesn't have absolute rights once the works they create is disseminated (or is intended to be) to others, such as messages posted here - point is that messages once posted don't just belong to the poster, but rather the community as a whole - if everyone attempted to delete the past, there would be very little to read - isn't fair to those who have taken time to reply; based their replies elsewhere on the messages - many folks have run into this problem at some other sites; it's a real conflict - on the one hand some posters seek privacy and eventually delete their posts/pics at sites that allow that, but on the other, folks who have posted replies and/or created faqs/journals based on the then deleted messages / pictures are left with big holes - that's not fair to them nor the community as a whole.

Sorry for the long tirade ...

With all that said, if there's a serious concern you have, please contact a mod ... they'll relay the information to me, if they feel I need to need to be involved; I try not to micromanage things, especially when the mods know more of what's happening than I do - the mods have a lot of autonomy and I trust their judgement.

    Ron
