    Pain Clinic Blues

Hi all...first, about my username..I want to say I don't always feel that way...just lately. Am in a pain management clinic (after suffering for 2 years as no nearby pain clinics accepted my crummy insurance). I only had weed to help me and whatever pain relief I could find on the street. On visit 3 they informed me that because I had showed MJ positive in my 1st 2 tests (they apologised for not mentioning it previously) that a 3rd dirty MJ test would mean dismissal from clinic. (I must have lower measures the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd month, and then ZERO after that).

I have terrible pain issues (which is why they readily agreed to treat me with opiates) but to me, weed is probably just as important to me, as it keeps me emotionally sound and happy. For the past month and a half, I have been relatively pain free, but emotionally miserable, and am almost to the point of letting the pain meds go and just suffering, and gettng whatever pain relief I can the way I used to........but I hate being forced to make this choice......subbing with CLEAN urine is not an option for us pain-management patients, as we must also have the metabolites from our prescribed drugs in our urine.........so I thought of freezing my own as our tests are unsupervised, (as soon as I am completely clean), and I know there is a lot about freezing already on this forum, but I badly need some reassurance on one issue., as the posts are mostly a couple years old, and the lab they use uses the form of test that is even BETTER than the GC/MS test (it has a couple other letter in front of that, but I forget what they are..SL or LS or something?)

A month ago I called a guy that runs a subbing website and he told me frozen urine would NOT pass the lab test, as the particles are somehow broken up by freezing, and that they can tell, but reading here, I got hopeful about it again. But am kinda scared to death at the same time......

Will I really be able to mix it up well enough after thawing so that this most delicate testing manner will not be able to tell?????

Sorry about this way long post, but I am just scared as hell, because I don't want to screw up and be back in terrible pain for the rest of my life if I get blackballed from ALL pain management for subbing........but on the other hand....my life is greatly diminished by not being able to smoke like I have through good and bad, for 40 years......( i had 2 liver transplants 6 years ago, and while deathly ill for several years, MJ was the only thing that got me through the pain and worry). Being a non-smoker has sure taken a lot of the joy out of my life.....seems SO unfair because weed is all I do besides my prescribed meds, but if I WANTED to I could do heroin, speed, crack, etc, all month long as long as I cleaned up 1 week before clinic, and they would be perfectly ok with that.........

Anyway, sure would appreciate any reassurance anyone could give me about freezing and sediment/crystals, and lab detection....

Thank you guys so much in advance...I am just literally losing my mind, I think, over this issue. LJ

PS: The 1st 2 months at pain clinic (when I didn't realise they were really serious about not smoking weed), and I had weed AND pain relief; were probably the best 2 weeks of my entire life..........

Its a very common problem now. Know of a couple people dealing with the same issue. Yes freezing urine will work. Take about 2 months of being MJ free, then gather as much urine as you can for freezing. I would pickup some of those 2 or 3 ounce travel bottles of shampoo, flush thouroughly and then put your thc clean urine in them. And practice with one othe bottles with just water in it to keep your heat right. Its a shame that even in states where MMJ is a completely legal prescription that you have to go through this.
To try and spred up the getting clean change to high fiber diet with metamucil and try to exercise as much as you can.

Thanks for the quick reply KW.....I think my main issue is with the crystals, though....have you ever known anyone who got caught because of the sediment factor? (paranoid as HELL about that)....I have read some of your previous posts about freezing, and a couple other folks, and is what made me reconsider it again in the 1st place....so thanks....that guy at Test-clear got me too scared to do it the 1st month, as I figured he must know what he;s talking about (but hoping he doesn't).....just hoping for a bit more reassurrance, I guess about the damn sediment factor and the very precise lab tests...did you have just a dip-stick test with yours or a lab GC/ms?......they were able to tell me EXACTLY how much weed was in my system each time...SCAREY....what an invasion of privacy!....and ya, even where MMJ is legal; same problem with the clinics.....makes me almost wish I was a crack-addict or something (not really), but MJ being my only drug of choice is sucking big-time at the moment. Thanks...LJ

PS: In my second post I meant the best 2 MONTHS of my entire life; not weeks. (couldn't see an edit feature for the "quick-reply)

I came to a decision of sorts last night.......

I am so sick of being angry about this. These pain management people just have FAR too much control in my life....you walk in the door there every month, and you are not even allowed to use the restroom at all untill they take you back and weigh you, take blood pressure, look at your empty pill bottles; then they let you use the restroom to pee in the cup, and can't even wash hands...just hand sanitizer bottle on wall. It's just like being on parole...and for what??...because I am in pain?

By now I have a habit of sorts...am somewhat addicted to all the opiods, so they really have me over a barrel. I started last night lowering my dosage by half, and though I don't feel too good today, am determined to continue till I don't physically need them anymore.....I just can't take anyone having that much control over my life....if the freezing urine doesn't work for some reason, at least I won't be in absolute HELL if they cut me off, and I'll deal with the pain however I can, but at least I'll have the 1 thing that has brought me much joy in my life....weed.

    Wish me luck...........LJ

Did it ever occur to you that for these pain management doctors to try to give their patients enough pills to make them comfortable without having their licenses and their freedom yacked away from them by local police, feds, DEA, regulatory boards, etc that they have to do this. Also thank people who take advantage of these doctors either by abusing the pills or by selling them? Pain management doctors are the good guys as they are following a cardinal rule of pain control, believe the patient unless they prove to you otherwise. It's law enforcement you should be upset with.

You think these doctors really get their rocks off by making you jump through hoops? Yeah, that's why they have gone to school for half their lives.

Curious, what is your doctor's specialty, family practice, surgery, anesthesiology, etc?

Nope. I'm not actually angry about anything except them taking such a strong stance agains MJ, which has already been proved to help people iin pain. Like I said, I do nothing other than my pain meds and pot. The thing is; if I wanted to I could do all the OTHER drugs I wanted, as long as I stopped one week before my monthly clinic visit...and that's exactly what a lot of patients there do do...even the ones who sellall their pills save a few to take a day or 2 before appt day so they come out looking good on the urine test. So everyone, in essense, gets away with everything EXCEPT pot smokers...so how is this fair?? So all their rules are kinda BS....all the hard drug users and drug sellers skate around them and do exactly as they please.

But ya, they are legally protected (although they are quite aware of everything I just wrote), and that's all they care about.

No, I don't think they get their rocks off this way....but let's not pretend it's for the greater good. It's only for their protection.

This clinic's policy is to assume everyone is guilty untill they prove otherwise, and yet they leave wide gaps for everyone to do as they please except MJ users, who can't clean up in a week or 2.

This places specialty is just Pain Management...they do nothing else...you don't even see a doctor...just a nurse-practitioner, although there is an unseen doctor behind all this that runs the clinic.

On another note; I was glad to see you answer my post, as I know you seem to know an awful lot about these sort of things; and do you feel still, in my situation, that freezing for a year might be a workable option?....I kinda feel I could trust you to answer my question about the sensitive testing they do....do you think it might work??

I very much appreciate in advance your advise on ths, FBR.......LJ

PS: am not asking anyone to help get pain doctors (or nurses) in trouble; honest. Was just hoping for a little help and reassurance for a simple pot user to be able to get away with what the hard core drug addicts and felon drug dealers already are able to to,

Just scared about the sediment/crytalization issue, FBR,

No you will be fine just shake the bottle after unfreezing and the sediments should mix back up.
The pain clinics that I know of are a real pain when it comes to MMJ users. Most don't recognize it as medicine. But there are some. I'd shop around a little and just call them to see if they recognize MMJ as medicine. If they don't, don't go to them.

I deeply appreciate your answer on this, KW. Also your tips on the fiber supplements as a way to speed up the cleansing process. It helps more than you might know; just not feeling totally alone in this...will let you know what happens....thanks again..LJ
