Sure it wasnt a cougar or a mountain lion? Bobcats are usally colored. They actully attack people quite often too. I read a story about a guy getting jumped by one in a north american hunting mag a while back, out in the rockie and it knocked him over. It was mauling him and he had to dispatch it with a rock to the noggin.
