A few cheap 4 foot shoplights with inexpensive cool-white tubes work fine for clones, the light is gentle. T-12 works T-8 if you find them is more effecient, t-5 rules but are expensive.

Don't need too much light for the mothers either since you don't want them to grow too quickly, unless you are doing a HUGE grow.

Keep a fan blowing so that the plants don't burn if they grow up into the tubes, and don't let them touch the tubes at all with the t-5 tubes.
Mustelid Reviewed by Mustelid on . clone and light I am building a grow box for clone and 2 mom , the box is something like 4' x 3' . what would be the best light i can get for that? the sale guy say 400mh but i am worry about heat, right now my clone are in my grow room under a 1000 hps but hell i cant keep them humidified so i want a box just for them. The box will be in my basement, smell wont be an issue since it only for clone and 2 small mom , i can leave the box open a bit if needed. So should i go with that 400 mh or is it overkill? Rating: 5
