Crap...broke the top coda off...

Plant had to spend a day in my car for reasons that will go nameless. It wasn't hot or anything, the worst part about it was that the plant was horizontal. Well, I brought it back into my apartment and all of the codas were reoriented for what was "up" in the car but not in my apartment. I try lightly bending the top one, interrogatingly. SNAP.

So the top, main coda and about a couple inches down was removed from my plant. That coupled with the stress of slightly off light cycles will make this a very bad day for my plant. What are the consequences of losing the main coda a week into flowering? Obviously lost my biggest nug, but will new codas grow from the bare "top" now or is it too late in the game for my plant?

This is just the worst...

More growing energy will go to the other budsites, the light is more of a worry if it got light when it shouldn't be. If it is just darkness during the light cycle, in your trunk, that's like having an overcast cloudy day. Part of nature, no stress to the plant.

As for the physical damage, animals, falling branches, things like that happen in nature too. It would have been better for that to happen before flowering of course, but a few weeks into flower isn't too bad.

You might lose some overall yield, but the plant will make up for it somewhat by putting the budding energy into the lower branches.

Keep her healthy from now on and she should be ok.

same happened to me.i was bending it over and snap.the whole main c was in my hands..happened same time as yours.the plant just put all its energy into different bud sites..but i think maybe i lost 10 grammes

I've had branches/colas "snap" before, but I've seldom had to remove them. I know it's too late for yours, since you've already removed it, but in the future, you MIGHT want to try keeping it attached. This assumes, it doesn't snap and fall off completely, I guess. I've used medical tape, and it worked for me pretty well. After the "snap", I immediately straighten her out, and I tape her up with sort of a splint. I've used sticks, or just tape. Either way, the girls usually don't skip a beat. As long as the cola is supported, the processes inside the plant keep going as if nothing happened.
