one program usually doesn't coverall the bases. i agree with ub3r that malwarebytes i good. also, ad-aware & spybot S&D are good.

Spybot S&D is good, and I favor Avira for antivirus, highest detect rate of any antivirus software, there is a free version available funded by purchased versions.

Be careful to only download from the company website or a trusted repository like download.com or tucows.com, many sound-alike programs exist which are actually spyware themselves.

Or do what I did. Install Linux Mint 7 and forget about antivirus and spyware protection.

Yeah id second the avira,Avast is also pretty good for the free version.

I use Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and Malwarebytes in that order. Spybot catches 99%, what gets by it is nearly always caught by Ad-Aware, usually leaving Malwarebytes nothing left to catch.

With those three I haven't had any real threat get through in more than a year.

I used to prefer Ad-Aware, but lately, Spybot Search & Destroy seems to have improved, has a lot more current updates, than it used to ... :smokin:

Run Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware..
