Half is way too much. Growing out a plant from seed isn't THAT hard and big deal if you have to pick out males. You can get tonsss of seeds from buying a dub of mids. Not to mention the risks you'll take by growing in your house farrr outweight the value of 4 garunteed females (clones).

I'd say a quarter of what you get would be somewhat fair.

The other day he brought up the idea of getting 4 clones of his girls, and letting me do my normal indoor grow, only I'd be guaranteed females. Sounded good, but I told him to let me think about it. So I come back to him in a couple days, and said that everything sounded good. That I'd take his clones and do my thing.
