My friend was doing a pre-employment drug screening today. He hadn't been smoking much lately, about 1 joint a month for a while and the last time he smoked was about 2 weeks ago. He took a home test this morning and the line was very very very faint. I heard even a faint line is negative. He drank lots of water all day long until his pee was clear and took another test in the afternoon and the line was more solid indicating he was negative. I gave him some B vitamins to take to make his pee yellow but that was only about 45 minutes before the test. After the test he told me they put it in a vial and sent it off without giving him any results. Every time I have taken a pre-employment test (always been negative) they told me the results right away. What does this mean that they sent it off in a vial? Do you think they suspected dilution and sent it for further testing? Is there any way he can find out the results?

When I took my pre employment screen at Quest they sent my sample off in a vial and I had to wait to see if my emplyer would say anything. When no conversation occured after a week, I assumed, correctly, that the test results were negative. I also had to fillout a chain of custody form. Did your friend fill one out?

After the test he told me they put it in a vial and sent it off without giving him any results.

What do you want them to do, cup their hands and run around with it?

Do a search or read some threads to find out what is more common, getting results right away or it being sent out (or transported with the cupped hand method) and getting the results in a few days.

Every time I have had a drug test done it had a strip on the side of the cup which gave results in a few minutes.

Hi, I have a test coming up at Quest and I think they're going to send my sample off to b/c they said the results would take 24-48hrs. I was wondering, since ur results were negative (assuming you didn't abstain), did you dilute (if so, what method) or substitute (if so, what brand?)? Since our tests seem somewhat alike, I thought I'd have the best luck doing what worked for someone in the most similar situation. Any help would be greatly appreaciated, Thanks.

I passed by abstaining and going on a high fiber diet, big cardio workout regimen. I did mildly dillute with 40 oz of gatorade and i took creatine supplements to be on the safe side. I abstained for 25 days prior to taking the test and I was a 1-2 joint a day smoker for 1 1/2 yrs. But I was practicing and experimenting and after 7 days smoke free I was passing with dillution. For dillution to really work you do need to combine it with abstinence. I'm not a subber but plenty members are. I would suggest you look into substitution. Search the threads for info. If you are taking a pre employment test, it will not be monitored and you should be able to sub safely.

I'm in a similar boat... I just took a test yesterday (Wed.) and I'm sitting in the waiting game. I passed a home test before and after so I don't think I failed, but I did dilute so I'm worried about having to go back.

Once I had arranged a start date, my employer said that I had to take my drug screening "no more than 30 business days before your start date, and no less than 2 business days before you start date." Naturally, I took it 3 business days before my start date

I assume the 2 business days are so that they can get the results in time. I took the test on Wednesday, and I'm scheduled to start on Monday. I'd assume if I don't hear anything by this weekend I should be okay, but I'm going to abstain for a week or so just to be sure... What do you guys think?

I just took a drug test that got sent to Quest on Tuesday. I subbed with Quick Fix 5.7 Batch # f11c-09. Got the call from HR on Friday saying I was all clear!! I'd say this is the best method to use plus you don't have to stop smoking :smokin:
