I'd seriously try and bring a crop or two to harvest before learning 'advanced' techniques. You can easily stress the lady if you start removing branches and leaves, (a common cause of hermaphrodism) especially if the plant isn't stress-free to begin with.
Kinda hard to agree with a yield-increasing technique, when the technique is to remove yield. Regardless...chasing the possibility of an additional gram or two is not worth the possibility of hermaphrodism, unless you know what you are looking for and what to do if the nanners appear.
The best yield-increasing technique I've ever come across, is to let them be till harvest. (and a weekly teaspoon of molasses per gallon of water added their nutrients)

'lollipopping' is just a bad idea, to me ... I only see risks taken, and no improvements ... if fan leaves block too much light, bend them back ... usually a waste of time, as non-high pressure grow lamps, don't 'reach' much below the canopy, anyway ... practice the Basics, and grow succesfully

the only place lollipopping increases yeild is in a singlecola sog setup IMHO.
the way it works for me is 10 days into flower i remove all the lower branches so all that is remainig is a cola, now the closer i get to the top i will leave the fan leaves if they get light and just remove the branch.
what i have found is say for instance i go from clone to flower in a single gallon bucket i get the same weight from a plant with branches and a plant without branches. just the one is a solid monster nug with almost no popcorns and the other is usually skimpy nugs but both plants finish at 10-14 grams
in an 4x4 area under 1000 i can fit 90-100 lollipopped plants where regularly grown i can only fit 60ish that can add up to 300 grams to the same area easily depending on strain my MK could hit an oz dry per stick thats almost 2 lbs.
if you doit dont remove any tops just whole lower branches and not more than 10-14 days into flower 10 for 60 day strain aand 14 on longer
if u want check my sig and the caseys in the experiment got cut, i dont think by enough though

i have harvest some killer crops befor, ive also masted the FIM technique. but i was reading in ED Rosenthal's book, that is you remove all of the sucker branches at the bottom it will give you fater nugs because it dricts all of the hormos to the top instead of using it for branches that get low light and pop corn bud. how dose that whole molasses thing work? is it the same type you buy at a food mart? when do you start to add it and what dose it do? thanks for all of you help:thumbsup:
