 BF Laughing Buddha growMP,

You are doing a DWC basil grow? As in the actual herb basil? I'm doing a soil basil grow this season. I just thought that was cool. One of my basil plants smells like sliced pepperoni, the kind you put on pizzas, no joke.

Let me know how it goes,

 BF Laughing Buddha growSMG,
Yes, the actual herb basic. I'm doing preliminary technique attempts with the basil because:

 1) I need to grow some anyway
 2) I don't to waste any good seeds if my first try doen't work out.
 3) No needd to worry about sexing or hermies

 FourKicks,

I'm not that knowledgable. I'm just standing on some tall shoulders.
 Thanks anyway.

Stick around and you'll far surpass me in no time!

All seeds stuck their heads up proudly over the top of the soil, 100% sucess!

Tomorrow I crack the Amsterdam beans, woohoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BF Laughing Buddha growSo Mrs P and I sat down and determined what would grow so here's the lineup:
 All Feminized-
Barney's Farm Laughing Buddha 1 seed
 Barney's Farm G13 x Haze 2 seeds
Reserva Privada Kandy Kush 2 seeds
Dinafem Blueberry x Hash 1 seed

 Let's see what actually pops.

BF Laughing Buddha growAll seeds have popped their heads using Weezard's coco germination method.

DWC technique experiments have been good as well. I'll probably do 1/2 coco and 1/2 DWC. and see which I like better, but the DWC is already growing on me.

After experimenting with spray and bubbling I killed my water pump shortly after putting some coco filled net pots in place of the neopreme inserts. My plants seem just as happy with just the bubbles (if not more). Once again I feel like I've re-invented the wheel, Weez !

I'll probably post pictures once a week on the weekends.

Not much to see at this stage.

Let the coco dy out from germination until this morning. Water only to all pots just until start of runnoff.

They were stretching a bit so I dropped the lights to 4" from growing tip.

Kandy Kush and Blueberry Hash have bluish/purple stems. They are on the right.
G13 and Laughing Buddha are green stemed. They are on the left.

 For general reference:

 Laughing Buddha: Thai x Jamaican
 G13: G13 x Hawaiian
Kandy Kush: OG Kush x Arcata Train Wreck
Blue Hash: Blueberry x California Hash Plant

 SauceeMcgee:
The basil grow is doing great. I gave 17 of 18 to friends and am DWC the remining one in the clone bucket. It went from 4 leaves to 20 in 3 weeks. I already harvested 4 large leaves for a salad (they were hogging the light anyway) and the plant is thriving.
I forgot to tke a photo of it but will post one in the newar future.

 That's it for now.

BF Laughing Buddha growThat's awesome! Originally Posted by MerryPrankstr Originally Posted by MerryPrankstr

 Here's the recipe:

For every cup of water boiled, add 1 tbsp of chopped fresh basil (.5 tbsp if dried) and 1 tbsp lemon thyme (.5 tbsp if dried). You can also add some lemon verbena to that to make it even better, but I didn't have any....

Either way, it is really really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really should have spread my basil out more than they are now because the pot I have them in is not big enough for 11 plants.... :wtf: Either way, they are doing fine. I also have a rosemary plant that is just taking off from seed, it's really awesome.

Anyway, that's enough out of me.

 Good work,

 SMG

P.S. - I like the Jade in the background

BF Laughing Buddha growWell I'll be...

I've been growing basil for 50 years and never had any brewed as tea!
I'm gonna have to try that, thanks.

The Jade you see in the background was given to me as a cut, just two leaves at the start. Now it's over 10 nodes high and has 4 to 6 branches on each plant in 8 months! Also in that picture is some catnip, chamomile and marilgold seeedlings.

I also have cocoa trees and a baobab tree as well as the usual ficus and elms. On of my favorites is an European Larch, which is a connifer that looses it's needles every winter.

I guess you can say I'm a growing fool!

BF Laughing Buddha growI can empathize with your love for growing plants! I work in a greenhouse and am constantly surrounded by rare species of orchids that are UNBELIEVABLY gorgeous in bloom and plenty of other bizarre plants! And the plants look nice btw, I'm curious to see how your Kandy Kush turns out.

 Cheers,
