I feel like a massacre just took place...pruning...

First picture is the result of my pruning, second is a better shot of it after it had been pruned, third is before I pruned it.

Did I hurt it too much do you think? Just took off like 3 "sucker" shoots and a few small 3 fan leaves totally under cannopy.

If it is in veg it will be fine. It may take a week to start seeing normal growth again, considering you stressed it by pruning it, so you need that time for the recovery.

    They look beautiful though!

No way, it looks like you barely took anything off of the girl.

You can literally cut plants in half with few problems, but its good you are erring on the side of caution.

Quick question......why did you trim the leaves under the canopy, isn't the point of trimming to give the under leaves light, should have trimmed the bigger leaves that are blocking the other leaves from the light.

The idea was that the little leaves would never really get much light and are known for making little "popcorn" nugs anyway. My plant would be better off without a small, shady population of leaves and buds that consume resources in order to fruitlessly grow slightly larger. Killed in the veg stage, no resources gathered from the healthy sun leaves up top will be redistributed to make popcorn nugs on the bottom, only big nugs around the top where its mighty sunny.

If I killed the big sun leaves like you're suggesting I would have a very ugly plant with massively reduced photosynthesis capability. I killed some leaves but they were probably consuming more resources than they were contributing, unlike the sun leaves up top.

k, just saying, I trimmed mine because the smaller leaves below were much more tightly arranged, so i trimmed the big ones out of the way and then the little grouped ones grew out and now i have a good amount of nicely sized nigs....
