6 hours should give you enough time I think, as long as you are back in the airport at latest 2 hours before your next flight.

Amsterdam airport is not far from the city... about 15-20 minutes by train, which leaves from the airport's basement. Could also take a taxi, but quite expensive.

From Central Station, you will have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to a decent coffeeshop.

If it's your first trip to Amsterdam, do your research before hand, and have a good map (or written street directions) so you don't waste time looking for the shop you want. Also, not all shops have space cake, very few actually do on a regular basis. The ones that do will run out on busy days.

I know one shop that has cake on a regular basis, called Popeye Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory - Popeye coffee shop But, keep this in mind, that most of the space cake in Amsterdam is meant for stupid tourists. In other words, it's quite weak, at least from my experience with the Popeye's cake. Also the weed at Popeye isn't that good usually, but just down the street are the Greenhouse and Barneys (next to eachother ), where you will definitely find some good smoke.

I'll be going to Amsterdam next week, and stay til Christmas... can't fucking wait!
bigtopsfinn Reviewed by bigtopsfinn on . What are the chances Ok, here is the deal I am flying to see my husband in Kuwait and have a six hour layover in Amsterdam. Now the question is, do I have time to leave the airport smoke up and get back in time to catch my plane. I know it is a pain to leave the airport, but I have my passport and ready for some smoking fun. I could even run into the cafe and grab space cakes or something like that I could eat it and than half way in the air feel the nice high. So anyone familiar with the Amsterdam airport? If Rating: 5
