    Flushing and PH

Hey guys. I got a question about flushing and PH.
    1. How often should I do this?
    2. Should I use PH'd water to flush with?'
    3. What signs should I look for when ph could be in question?

Im having an issue where my leaves are curling inward. Not that its rolling downwards and in, but the sids of each leaf are curling downwards. The fan leaves are not doing this, the leaves around thebuds that are growing up each arm the main stem. The plant itself looks fine. Nice and green, no nute burn that I can tell, but I havent been able to test the runoff water b.c the pot I have does not have holes in the bottom, I did make some, but water never comes out lol, which is why im about to get a bigger pot so I can test runoff ph.
I cant see it being a real problem, After I come back Ill take some pics so yall gave give me your $0.02.

    Thanks all

    Hello EnhAnceD,

I'll take a shot at some answers, I'll probably have to check myself tommorow, I'm realy working under a handicap right now.

    1) at least once a week depending on type of medium, type of nutes and other factors. Dutch Master for example recommends feeding to reccomended strenght one day then palin water next two time you feed.

2)yes, ph'd water allows the nutes in soil and in the plants cells to be used

3)signs of nutes lock out, or certian deficiencies.

Important to understand you need to run the correct PH based on what medium you grow in. In general terms soil should be about 6.3 (+/- .2), Pro-mix abot 6 (+/-,2) and for RockWool 5.5(+/-.2). But always check and see if your nutrient mfg recommends and use that as a starting point.

And a shift from what the PH in is, to what the PH out is a good thing. The shift allows for beter nute uptake since differant elements get used better at slightly different PHs. I hope this helps, hell I hope it makes scence.

The way this reads is you are suggesting he flushes at least once a week and I don't think that is the way you intended that to read. I could just be high though.

The feeding is a standard schedule, but actually flushing? When I flushed (defined as 3x or more container size of water being poured through), before I dialed in the nute schedule and made flushing not needed, I flushed 2 weeks or so before harvest.

    Hello Fencewalker,

You read it as I had intended, but once I saw your post I realized I was wrong. I was thinking in terms of my personal grow that is RW based and I bloom in a rotary garden that is not capable of a full flush as you correctly defined. I run plain PHed water every week for at least one day sometimes two.

In the other grow I have with a partner that is p-mix in containers we flush once about 10-14 days before harvest, just as you have indicated.

I stand corrected and thank you for catching that. I was pretty screwed up last nite/morning. Seeing some of my posts today from last night I could not believe a person could make so many typos and spell errors. So it was me not you:jointsmile:
