ideal light heights

im not sure on wot height to have my light,its a 400w hps and im growing 3 plants big budda cheese,double dutch and kilo watt if that helps. if anyone knows for both starting them off from seed and when they are at the max height,cheers

Min. 2ft for seeds, atleast 18 - 24 inches for trees. If, you have a cooling source you could get closer to your plants, as close as a foot away. Try using the back of your hand to check the temp, that'll also give you an idea of where your lights are in reference to your plants.

Yeah, the ideal height is as close as you can get them without burning the plants.

Thanks!! i knew u can burn if they were too close.but didnt want them too far away as it would stretch the plants out.its in a build in wardrobe but its a pretty big wardrobe.got a 7" fan in there and the temp and humidity readings seem to be fine.btw wot is the max humidity you can have,someone said 80 to me??
