rooting a fan leaf possible?
It was about rooting straight cuttings, I was only mentioning the fact that in tissue culture we usually start off with a piece of leaf. There is no reason to believe that the same stimulents used to induce cellular growth in petri dishes, could not be applied to a whole leaf, not to just produce roots (I used willow water for that, which is rich in hormones and enzymes to stimulate root growth) but other items to induce growth of a stem and leaves.
And you definately are not bing a dick at all, this is just a discussion about some theroy and some experiments. And I am glad you read stuff it is always a good starting point. As much as I like reading scientic studies and such at some point you need to see how it all applies to actual growing. Live, learn, experiment. And I admitted I never experimented further then the root stage, just wasn't viable time wise to persue, I figured if it took soo long just to get roots it would be really long to get it to veg. But I hold a belief it could be done, can't prove it without trying it, and with enough curiosity will probably come another experiment.oldmac Reviewed by oldmac on . rooting a fan leaf possible? my 10 kids are 5 weeks old today going on day 30, just now starting on their 5th nodes. I dont wanna throw them into flower just yet, because to me they're still small, but I wanna sex them as soon as possible. I was wondering if it were possible to cut a fan leaf and root it.
