Here we go...
May 20th 2007:
My friend and I were playing in his backyard with a pellet gun.
We were having fun and he knocked over the target so I ran over and got it.
He accidently shot me and it went in my left hip. I barreled down to the ground and started crying. I couldn't walk and it felt like somebody shoved a knife into my hip. I had a firey sensation rush down my leg and up my back. My friend carried me to the couch and called the police. They came and had to have six fireman carry me out. Blood was rushing down my side and my leg. The whole way to the hospital was bumpy and the most unbareable ride ever. I got to the hospital and they called a full trauma team on me.
Mind you that is:
Anaesthetist
Anaesthetic Assistant
General Surgeon
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Emergency Room Physician
Two Nurses.
Radiographer
Scribe (Nurse or doctor)
They rushed me into my room and they immediately started injecting me with morphine right where i was shot. He grabbed his knife and made the wound bigger. He got his clamps and dug around for about twenty minutes. I could feel him scraping my hip and he kept digging around. The pain was completley tremendous. I'M STILL AWAKE THE WHOLE TIME. After another ten minutes he sews me up and says he can't find it. Thinks that it will be fine to leave it.
So i went home.
(After an aggonizing 3 and a half years of feeling it scrape on my hip and its imbedded in my muscle and nerve.)
(After several timeless doctor visits)
April 1st '09:
I went in for surgery. They put me under and got it out. They said they Over lapped my muscle and fixed my nerve. He gave me a bottle of Hydrocodone and sent me on my way.
Limping around school the next few days and feeling unbelievable firey sensation I asked my teacher if i could go home. I went home and took a pill and layed down. I walked down my hall and turned into my room and hit my hip on the door knob. I barreled to the ground again and cried. All i could do was take more hydrocodone and lay in bed. Endless nights of pain and not sleeping.
April 26th '09
We went back to the doctor and he gave me Lyrica. He said it was for Deep Nerve and Muscle pain aka Fibromyalgia. I took the pills the next two days and took one the third morning before school. I was walking down the hall when I started to feel sweaty, clamy. I couldn't breathe and I was nauseated. I fainted and woke up in the nurses office. Sent me home. Never took one since. (This is when I found out that Marijuana delivered the best pain relieve and it was a good detterent from the narcotics they gave me.)
(A couple weeks later)
May 20th '09:
Standing in the hall talking to a friend another guy came up behind me and put a choke hold on me. Within seconds I was out in his arms.
(From here on is a friends perspective or family member)I went limp and he got scared and let go. My friends told me I fell to the ground head first. The impact caused me to have a seizure. They say that I hit my head on the ground 4 times seizing. Till somebody got the nurse. They didn't even call an ambulance. They just called my brother to come get me. They said I was unresponsive, Not talking or saying anything. They took me to the E.R. They rushed me to the cat scan. They gave me a Dye Contrast (e.g., iodine-based dye, barium solution) Through my IV. (I was coming to wake here) I felt a burning sensation rush through my body like I did some heroin or something and I couldn't breathe. I Had a weird taste in my mouth and I was nauseated. Then I passed out again.
I woke up in the Hospital bed three hours later. He said that if i ever hit my head again I am more then likely to have another seizure. They just released me. For the next several days I was slow. Like all my energy was gone. I couldn't focus in class and I was confused alot.
Skip ahead
Mid June '09:
Still having horrible trouble sleeping because of hip and deep leg pain I told my dad that Marijuana helped. He was very skeptic on the subject but was willing to listen. I did all my research online and then presented him my plan.
(He was still skeptic and didn't think my mom would go for it.)
(After a couple weeks my dad told me that my mom would sign off and so would he.)
July 8th '09:
I called my Doctor and I scheduled for me to pick up my objective findings for tomorrow.
I callled Pain Management of Colorado.
She said that all I had to do was schedule an appointment and Since I am a minor i'd have to see two doctors.
I have to get my records tomorrow and schedule an appointment.
I didn't think they would take me serious because i was a minor. But she was very nice and resourceful.
Things are looking good. I hope you guys wish me luck and I'll be sure to fill you in on events as they unfold. If you have any questions let me know.
If you guys are looking for a physician in colorado I highly reccomend this place.
