This talk about finding pot brings back a memory.. and a tear to my eye..

When I first started smoking pot (I was around 13-14), There was an abandon house nearby. Most of the older stoners would hang there. Through friends & grapevine and whatnot, our younger crew heard that one of the big local dealers was robbed.
His house was broken into and his pot stolen. (He worked at a junkyard I would later find out, and grew his own sinse in the field behind the junkyard)

The stolen pot added up to a tad over 3 pounds. It was all freshly manicured & cured. All buds, no seeds, the first "kind" buds I had ever seen. Anyways, me and my friends bought a nickel bag and headed to the abandon house to smoke up. We climb up into the attic and notice that the fiberglass had been moved. I lifted it up to adjust so I could sit properly, and there it was. 2 freezer ziplocks bag packed full of pot. My first instinct, grab the pot, shove it up my shirt and run. No telling when the stasher was coming back, the house was a neighborhood hangout. Me and my 2 buddies ran like the wind. Once we got to our "fort" in the back of my house, we divided the pot up. We each got about a pound each. Now mind you, this was almost 15 years ago.
Dr Dre the Chronic had recently came out, kids were starting to "thug" it out. So we did what we thought right. We started selling pot and spending money.
We were living like little kings back then for about a month. Taking limo's to go on shopping spree's at our local mall. Throwing parties, buying insane jewelry for our little girlfriends.. Smoking some of the best pot we had ever laid our lips on. My parents were a little suspicious of my behavior but one of my friends parents were very well off and a little eccentric so I would always use him as my alibi for anything.

A couple of the kids who I would guess stole the pot got word of our "dealings" and confronted us a couple times. We got beatup more then once, but we would always say we got our pot from some other guy and send them off on a wild goose chase. Eventually, they started buying their stolen pot from us! Screw them, they were big bullies anyways...

When the pot was gone, so was our money. We all had dreams of dealing again but not one of them was successful. The profit margin sucked.

I will always remember that fateful month of July, 1993
Best summer of my life.
