Little Problem
Well it's not a plant problem... Well it effects the plant lets say. Come the 15th of july im going away for 3 weeks to Russia.. I do every summer umm now I live by myself so no one to take care of the plant I was thinking of getting a rubbermaid container and filling it up with water and putting a little 40gph pump in it on a timer to water it for a couple minutes once or twice a day.
What do you think? Would this be a reasonable solution? I have some big containers and the grow is going so good now that I don't want her to die so...c0mrade Reviewed by c0mrade on . it should work, but you need to test it alot before you go away... last thing you want is to come home to a bunch of water damage because the pump didn;t turn off for some reason... or even worse, if you live in an apartment and it floods the unit below and the landlord comes into your apartment to discover the cause.

Nah I don't live in apartment and yeah Im testing it I still got 10 days before I go away so lots of time to make sure it works. Im just worried about overwattering this thing pumps 80gph the rubber maid is like a 20 gal lol. My timer only does 30min intervals
so I dunno what imma do. My only option is to turn the pump down to lowest option and let it go for 30 mins once a day maybe even once every 2 days. I drilled a bunch of holes in the tube so it all wont go to 1 location.

Hmmm...a canna care home service would be nice. Cannascaping Svcs, Mary Jane Maids, Joint Ventuers inc...
Perhaps it's something for the dispensaries or hydro shops to look into. Could be a lucrative business for those that need to travel, but are tied to their medical growrooms.
Perhaps a web-cam set-up and a controller valve for watering on demand...?
3 weeks is a long time for water to sit. Would suck if it drained or evaporated too soon. I wonder if putting the pump in the toilet would work...? (it would automatically refill)

Lol I like your ideas I thought about having a webcam with water on demand I could code a web script that when you press the button it water but then I'm looking into big costs. Wireless webcam or spare pc with one umm microcontrolers the whole 9 yards.
Toilet idea pretty good seeing as I have a pipe not to far that I can tap into. Maybe I should bind 2 rubbermaids together 40gal? I'm going to buy a little air bubbled thing a ma bob so the water isn't just sitting.
I've talked to my father and he's gonna come over and wter the plant and check on it while I'm gone problem is he can only do it on weekends as he lives far away and works all week.

Perhaps bigger pots with less perlite? A thorough saturation once a week and raised lights and a mellow circulation fan might do the trick. Think he could hadlle mixing some nutrients?

Im not using much for nutrients just using some shultz plant food on this plant my next ones ill do properly. Ermmmm Ill probly just do the rubbermaid resvoir and hope that does the trick :P Ill do a couple tests before I go if it should go on twice a day or once a day. I think because my timer does 30 min intervals should only do it once a day.

I cant find one that does lower then 30 min intervals and I paid $10.99 for my 24 hour / 30 minute interval one so.... your price is a bit off.
And Trust me thats the same price in 2 provinces in like 10 different stores lol.
