Sorry to start another-- but seed strain question
I know there have been millions and I have read most of them. I have spent hours pouring over the seed catalogs trying to get a reasonable idea of the choices. The problem is that I can't find a good database with ALL pertinent information.
I have many grows under my belt and have screwed up in most every way possible. I have the kinks worked out and want to switch away from bag seed and get something better to work with now that I have killed every bag seed between here and town.
Here is the issue:
I want to start with 2 strains ($$) then will probably double that later. I need plants that starting bloom at 1' will finish around 3' @ 8 wks bloom. They will be side lit so I want plants that will fill 2'w x 3't with solid side branch colas on one side with one main cola, or whatever will fill that space with the most bud possible. I do not want to run screens unless absolutely needed. The plants will be supported at a couple of key points but I want the branches to do their own thing
Since I have 2 strains to work with I want one couch lock and the other a solid combo or trippy. I am supplying a whole house off the 2 plants so will trade some power for production if I can't have both. I prefer solid nugs over wispy buds any day of the week, if you have a plant that turns into a 3' tall squat pile of dank I want to know all about it. I don't want to deal with the hassles of sexing my first run, so they have to be feminized. I will probably be buying through The Attitude.
Anyone with experience on multiple strains that can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.azgir420 Reviewed by azgir420 on . Sorry to start another-- but seed strain question
it seems just about any strain will fall into your category with the right methods used. LST, FIM'ing and supercropping are all good ideas to train your plants.
hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge on specific strains will help you. but i think you cant go wrong with any choice you make.
and the couchlock/head highs are dependent on how long you allow the strain to flower for and how amber the trich's are. mare amber trich's, more couchlock affect.
if im wrong someone please do correct me.

Sorry to start another-- but seed strain question
Yes, I know all about THC and CBD and how they interact. I can grow longer to change trippy into couch. Genetics also has some to say in this little play (indica / sativa split).
I also know about all of the different training techniques. The height issue I actually consider the smallest problem because 3' seems right in the medium height and I can handle it getting taller if needed (just 3' is convenient). With side lights the extra height is likely to be leaning away from ceiling anyway.
I don't want to train unless absolutely needed. I know there are lots of 3'ish beauties out there that will grow 2-3' wide with side lighting. I am just looking for a recommendation on 2 strains: 1 indica dominant couch locker, 2 hybrid with combo or cerebral. Thick buds and large producer that can be bought feminized. Strength as always a HUGE plus.
I'm tired of trying to make my pick based off of sellers hype and people who have experience with 1 strain.

Some of these descriptions can be hard to find, I took a lot of them from
Marijuana Genetics
Brothers Grimm
SUGAR BLOSSOMS
Smokers of White Widow almost universally comment that they wish it tasted better. The Bros Grimm set out to solve this problem by creating Sugar Blossoms, a skunky, lemon-flavoured White Widow hybrid. Expect hardy, vigorous plants with an Indica-dominant growth profile. Short & branchy, Sugar Blossoms is a high yielding, fast flowering, resinous plant that produces dense, sugar-coated buds that has a great taste and a light lemon smell. This plant, like most Brothers Grimm offerings, is easy to work with, trims up very easily, and has a beautifully balanced high.
Flowering: 50-55 days
Height: 100 cm.
Yield: 1-2 lb. Per 1000W lamp.
ROSETTA STONE
Rosetta Stone is a fast-flowering plant with heavy resin production and average yield. It clones remarkably well and is generally an easy plant to work with. It was created by pollinating a unique Ginger-Ale female (Ginger Ale makes the densest nuggets we've ever seen) with a male we've tracked for a long time as a reliable resin-enhancing father. Rosetta Stone is a super potent, wonderfully sweet, fruity smelling, perfectly balanced Sativa/Indica hybrid. A definate keeper in any connoisseurs garden.
Flowering: 50-55 days
Height: 120 cm.
Yield: 1-2 lb. Per 1000W lamp.
DTC99
The Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC) bred a Thai strain for four generations to stabilize its traits favoring indoor cultivation. SSSC's famous Durban Poison male was used to pollinate a particularly sweet Thai female from this fourth generation. The hybrid was called "Durban Thai Highflier" by SSSC is has quite a reputation among Cannabis "Old-timers". They exhibited the best genes from both sides of their heritage, maturing early and remaining reasonably compact due to the Durban's influence. True Thai weed is sickly sweet, but when crossed with the Durban, the hybrid took on a taste distinctly like black licorice. Bros Grimm decided to cross a particularly early-maturing female SSSC Durban Thai with a Cinderella 99 male. Expect a hybrid that is heavily Sativa-dominant, yet suited to indoor cultivation.
Flowering: 60 days.
Outdoor Harvest: Late September
Height: Indoors, under 4 feet. Outdoors, up to 10 ft.
Yield: Indoors, 2 ounce/plant. Outdoors, 1/2+ lb/plant.
ROYAL MIX
By popular demand, BG is proud to introduce a lower cost alternative to Cinderella genetics. We have created an upscale mix of Sativa/Indica hybrids which sprang from the same origins as C99. These plants will vary, being only partially stabilized. A few prime females will stand out in every group. We suggest topping & taking clones from each plant at 12 inches height or after the 4th node. Number the clones so that you can identify which clones came from which plant. Flower the clones from each plant shortly after they are rooted, keeping the original seedlings in the vegetative state. Choose your favorite female according to her clone's flowering attributes and keep her as your clone mother. Take clones from this mother and continue filling your flowering room with the same plant for years to come. The best females yield chunky, dense floral clusters with a high flower/leaf ratio and prolific resin production. The buds smell sweet and fruity as they ripen and toke up very smooth. The high is an uplifting, creative, artistic buzz that we hope you'll enjoy as much as we do.
Flowering: 45-55 days
Height: 100-150 cm.
Yield: Average is over 1 lb per 1000W lamp.
APOLLO 11
This indoor hybrid has a high calyx/leaf ratio & finishes flowering in 7 weeks or less. Our big-yielding, lemon-scented female clone named "Genius" because of her CLEAR, energetic, thought-provoking high was crossed with a robust Cinderella 99 male to create Apollo Eleven. Expect some variation among individuals. The best females are short, heavily branched plants with multitudes of dense, resinous bud sites - perfect for SCROG. The smoke has a sweet citrus flavour. The high is UP & HAPPY.
Flowering: 45-50 days
Height: 100 cm.
Yield: 1-2 lbs per 1000W lamp.
CINDERELLA 99
This strain may be the "Holy Grail". The result of painstakingly backcrossing a VERY RARE female to her male progeny over 3 generations. This hybrid was specifically bred for indoor cultivation. Short-statured & heavily branched, this plant grows LONG, dense colas with an EXTREMELY high flower/leaf ratio and OUTRAGEOUS resin production. The breeder has observed a "giant leap" in potency with each progressive generation and, as expected, Cinderella 99 has topped all previous results - her high is heavily influenced by Haze; clear, energetic & devastatingly psychoactive. A plant with all of the above is rare enough, but Cinderella 99 finishes flowering after a scant 50 days of 12/12! Above-average yields of crystal covered buds reeking of tropical fruit aromas can be harvested every other month once a mother plant is selected and asexually propagated.
Flowering: 50 days
Height: 100 cm
Yield: 1-2lbs per 1000W lamp
ICE PRINCESS
Created by crossing the mother of Cinderella 99 to a male White Widow from Green House which actually had resinous leaves! This strain will be the resin queen of the new millenium. Ice Princess grows best indoors, producing a compact plant which matures rapidly into a sticky, crystal-covered "Christmas tree". Her flavour and scent combine spices & fruits, but with a skunky undertone. The high is cerebral, but with more "body effect" than Cinderella.
Flowering: 50-60 days
Height: 100 cm.
Yield: 1-2 lbs per 1000W lamp.
WHITE RUSSIAN
The Brothers Grimm have re-created this respected hybrid of AK-47 and White Widow. A Serious Seed Co. AK-47 female with outstanding resin production and short stature was pollinated by the father of Ice Princess. Expect dense, heavily frosted buds that cure to a pale green with orange pistils and smoke with a spicy flavour. The clear, up high of AK-47 with a relaxing body effect from the White Widow.
Flowering: 50-55 days
Height: 100 cm.
Yield: 1-2 oz/ft2 using SOG.
GRIMM WHITE SHARK
We grew out dozens of White Widows from Green House stock. We chose from SEVERAL potentially EXCELLENT seed mothers for this hybrid, basing our final decision on stature, vigor, resin production and potency. The father of this hybrid is a Super Skunk from Sensi Seed Bank which grows HUGE masses of flowers that translates into BIG BUDS when his genes manifest themselves in his female offspring! The large yields of pungent-smelling, connoisseur-quality buds are well worth waiting 9 weeks for. An excellent choice for greenhouse cultivation, where these plants become HUGE!
Flowering: 60-65 days
Outdoor Harvest: Mid-October
Height: 130-150 cm.
Yield: 500-1000 grams/plant outdoors.
CALIFORNIA INDICA
Bros Grimm got so many requests for a good "couch-lock" Indica that we decided to test a pure Indica cross. We grew out a large sample group - these are the type of plants one might see a picture of in the dictionary under the definition of "Indica". Dark green, broad leaves, short stature, thick stalks and heavily branched...this pure strain produces heavy buds with a NARCOTIC stone.
Flowering: 60 days
Height: 3 ft
Yield: 1-2 oz/ft2 using SOG.
AURORA BEAUREALIS
Yes it's The Brothers Grimm version of Northern Lights! Truly outstanding individuals were selected to breed our own UNIQUE true-breeding version of the classic NL#5.
Flowering: 50-55 days
Height: 100 - 120 cm.
Yield: 300 gm/m2
GREEN GIANT
An extremely heavy-yielding Big Bud "mom" which continues to average 40g/sqft produced these when crossed with a stocky Shiva Skunk male. We're impressed with its' yield and the quality of this narcotic smoke.
Flowering: 50-60 days
Height: 100 cm or less
Yield: 400 gm/m2
SWEET SKUNK
The Skunk #1's acrid scent has been softened after crossing a fine male with one of our favorite "personal stash" mother plants. You might think you're in a mango grove. Nice balance of cerebral and body highs!
Flowering: 55-60 days
Height: 100 cm or less
Yield: 300 gm/m2
WHITE WIDOW
White Widow is a 60/40 Sativa/Indica hybrid that produces fantastically crystal-covered buds that are a joy to behold for any cannabis connoisseur. The Brothers Grimm began working with this amazing strain several years ago, when we purchased dozens of seeds from Greenhouse Seed Bank and planted them all. From this huge sample group of White Widow individuals, a single outstanding male and female were chosen after much evaluation. Some BG hybrids (Rosetta Stone, Sugar Blossoms, ect...) have already been created from the selected male plant and the public's response to them has been extremely favorable. Now after almost two years spent cubing our special female which was used to create Grimm White Shark, we're proud to announce the release of the most stable White Widow seedline the world has yet seen.
Flowering: 8-9 weeks
Height: 130 to 180 cm.
Yield: up to 1-2 lb/kW
MATANUSKA THUNDER
The Brothers Grimm are happy to offer this mysterious strain after receiving numerous requests. BG began with a clone obtained from an Alaskan biker who has been growing it for years up north. Mantanuska is a 40/60 Sativa/Indica hybrid, bred for an indoor environment. These plants produce enormous, rock-hard buds with an intensely skunky smell and flavor, not to mention the legendary high.
Flowering: 8 weeks
Height: 150 cm.
Yield: up to 2 lb/kW

Bluegrass Seeds
Black Mamba Premium: (Black Domina x Blue Bubblejuice) This hybrid outcross brings into play thick, potent, resinous Black Domina as the mother plant for the strain. Manicuring this one's round rubbery leaves proceeded in a halting fashion to allow for frequent washing the goo off of fingers. Copious resin production is the hallmark of this devastatingly potent strain, here mated with our homebred representitive selected for strength and aroma. Blue Bubblejuice is 50% Blueberry, 25% Juicy Fruit, and 25% Bubblegum, so then is a 3/4 sibling to famous Bubbleberry. From limited Production, this male emerged as the patriarch of his generation in our breeding chamber, an easy selection due to his overwhelming heavy aroma. Smoke from BBBJ proved to be soft and relaxing, with noticeable soothing medicinal qualities retained from the more sativa components of the pedigree. Flavor enhancement from Blueberry is still apparent, with improved growth characteristics and increased yield, again from the sativa components. Seeds were big and bold, some of the best seen recently in our projects. The Premium being developed in the rainforrest were the best seeds coming out of this grow, near perfect.
Black Mamba regular: (Black Domina x Blue Bubblejuice) This hybrid outcross brings into play thick, potent, resinous Black Domina as the mother plant for the strain. Blue Bubblejuice: (Bubblejuice x Blueberry) Blue Bubblejuice arrived as the sole product of a breeding effort featuring our Blueberry pollen source from Dutch Passion. That particular seed crop enlisted several cloned female recipients for the pollen, however most of them failed to produce seed from the breeding effort. Only our female Bubblejuice(Juicy Fruit x Bubblegum), produced seed that time, and quite excellent ones they turned out to be. Obviously mature and dark in color, germination of BBJ was excellent and quick, the resultant plants immediately established themselves as the quality benchmark of their generation. Selected as our first pollen source in 2001, BBJ did fine work in the pollen chamber, successfully establishing six resultant daughter strains, among them a stout f2 generation. The female phenotype resembles Blueberry, a columnar shape, but larger and more productive then Blueberry. Huge fan leaves with long thin blades are the norm with copious resin production and a slight blue tinge on the buds. The aroma is compelling, the berry and sweet thai components doing good work. A soft, soothing smoke, Blue Bubblejuice has quickly risen through the ranks of our homebreds as one of our most prized accomplishments.
Blue Goo: ( Double G x Blue Bubblejuice ) Le Canna's Bubblegum and G13 Hashplant arrived from Holland in early 2000. Both excellent, respectively, the G13HP female strain was chosen to produce seed from our Bubblegum pollen source. The happy results of this hybrid cross was mighty bombshell Gum13, clearly the superstar of her generation. Robust and brimming with vigor, she retained the trademark Bubblegum flavor and aroma while also exhibiting G13HP's accelerant effect on growth and potency. Subsequently our male G13HP was groomed for service, and Gum13 was among his mates. This 1x2 backcross resulted in Double G. Double G appears mostly indica, a wide, well-branched dark green girl with precocious and copious resin production. Hailing from a very high octane gene pool, she smoked extraordinarily well, extremely potent and satisfying. Bred to our Blue Bubblejuice pollen source, selected mainly for the obvious potency reflected in his aroma, and the soothing medicinal qualities of the smoke, this combination adds 3x3 inbreeding to Bubblegum to the result. While mostly indica in phenotype, this strain retains narrow pointed blades along with a a slightly longer finishing time associated with her sativa influence. Yield however, is improved, and aroma and flavor are unmatched.
Blue Hen II: (Blueberry x Super Silver Haze) Description for Blue Hen II: (Super Silver Haze x Blueberry) Blue Hen has waited a long time for another strain to look her in the eye and go past. To date none has passed her despite thorough efforts to the contrary. As the supply of our ORIGIONAL Blue Hen waned, we feared she would fall in to obscurity. Our energies were then channeled in to the quest for a new Blue Hen and this new f1 hybrid was brought along to carry on the tradition of the flagship. However, three years had elapsed since the origional development of Blue Hen, and the stock available to us from the premier vendors had changed quite a lot. This Hen then is somewhat different from the first version, featuring far more sativa qualities with the attendant longer finishing time. However YIELD assumed a more prominent role as the sativa element brought a BIG FINISH into the picture. With Blueberry lending those purple hues and berry aroma to the result, Blue Hen has had no apologies to make in this incarnation. A medical balm of high value, Blue Hen is a big strain with a strong high, very aromatic and aesthetically pleasing to the most difficult appraiser. Type: 70% Sativa; Height 5 feet pruned; Indoor yield under a 1K Hortilux as high as 4 to 5 ounces; Outdoors, tremendous yield potential
Blue Rocket: (Blue Rocker x Blue Bubble Juice) We started ten strains looking for a standout in the winter of 2001. Black Domina, California Orange, and Marleyâ??s Collie headed up the imports, but the eye-catching seeds were homebreds Blue Bubblejuice and Blue Rocker. These two strains germinated faster, grew bigger and bolder through vegetation, then exhibited the kind of aroma we all look for in a superior plant. After some deliberation, Blue Bubblejuice was selected for the pollen source for the entire crop, but Blue Rocker was maintained in the greatest number of females for production, having been developed from three generations of our own genetics. Blue Rocker was produced from our excellent Blue Russian and intensely inbred Rocker (1x2 to Juicy Fruit), a potent, satisfying smoke of the highest order, mostly indica, with a trademark sweet thai aroma. Blue Bubblejuice is a three-way combination of Blueberry and Bubblejuice (Juicy Fruit x Bubblegum). We consider Blue Rocket to be our greatest achievement in genetics to this point in time, certainly the most effort has gone into her development.
Blue Russian: (Blue Hen x Juicy Russian) Possibly our most beautiful plant, we expected this one to be good but WHAT a surprise! She looks like blue rubber, peels out leaving the starting gate going straight to the front, grows into a big fat berry-smelling giant showing of resin-coating few can match. Leaves no doubt about who the father is, his blue highness stamped all over this one. Juicy Russian #4 was the fairest of all of those Russians, a splendid individual, sheer delight to smoke.
Super Mix: (Assortment of BGS Strains) Blue Grass super mix: This is a combination of all BGs strains that have been grown out in the last year. Some are experimental and have not been marketed. I have included 10 Blue Hen seeds in this 300 bean mix. Can be grown indoors or out Mix contains: Sudden Impact, White Mr Nice, Blue Jamaican, Saturday night and Dream Weaver
El Peru: (El Nino X Peru Sk/Sat) Peruvian Sk/Sat came from H/S as a pet project. She was a fast grower and a big plant in general. Her smoke ranked her second in potency of the foreign strains imported in 1999. El Nino from Greenhouse was the best looking seedling we observed to that point, low and wide, very dark green color. The resultant cross gave an indoor variety columnar and sharky in texture, appearing as quite an indica type. The smoke, however, did not bear out this assumption, being strong but cerebral in quality, flavorful and full of character. El Peru is said to have been grown successfully outdoors as well, giving a taller more sativa appearance and lighter color.
Karpov: (Blue Hun x Blueberry) Karpov came about with the decision to reintroduce our long-time patriarch Blueberry to our homebred strains descendants from him. Blue Hun was already heavily inbred 1x2 to Blue Hen (blueberry), remarkably potent and resinous. Here Blueberry is reintroduced 1x3x4 to redefine the Blueberry line with the added influence of more sativa Super Silver Haze, a cornerstone of our breeding effort, the hope being to add vigor and size to the line. Purple faetures are maintained in Karpov along with the stunning berry smell and taste, with potency one must truly experience to believe. The plants are quite manageable and of moderate size-the heavy resin content is what catches your eye. This strain is named for genius World Class Chess Champion, Anatoly Karpov.
Kasparov: (Blue Kiev x Blueberry) Kasparov came about when our 2001 Blueberry pollen source was reintroduced to our homebred line Blue Kiev (AK47 x Blue Russian). Blue Kiev was already inbred 1x3 to AK47, and was the spitting image of her. We hoped to balance this strong potent influence with a 1x4 backcross to the lines patriarch Blueberry, once tested at 19% THC content, which lends blue hues and extreme potency to his descendants as well as a trademark berry taste and aroma. Blue Kiev here was pegged to give quick, easy growth along with hardiness and resistance to disease to the combination. This resultant strain was named for World Class Chess Grandmaster Gary Kasparov, a great genius of the late 20th century, himself Russian, and known for innovation and risky tactics. The plants are heavily indica, nearly always columnar and compact, with heavy thick buds on a small footprint.
Orangina: (California Orange x Blue Bubble Juice) Taste and potency were the primary concerns in the development of Orangina. Our California Orange #3 was the trophy plant from our sample, quite columnar, with a huge central cola which smelled precisely like oranges. She sat in very intense light throughout her pregnancy, never flagging, producing dark striped or sometimes speckled seed. Blue Bubblejuice should add character and presence to the mix, being potently aromatic himself, while re-emphasizing the pointed, narrow leaf set of Cali-O. Although some sativa characteristics will be maintained in this hybrid, the phenotype will be predominately indica with those more manageable growth characteristics. Resin production should reach for the record books as the sweet thai influence finds this orange grove
Sudden Impact: (Mr. Nice G13 HP x AK47) The incomparable import AK47 will just not go away. Lays you out on the couch with 2 hits, then you don't want to get up. Sells for $10 a joint! Crossed up here with heavy-hitter Mr. Nice G13Hashplant from Sensi, the best thing brought in so far in 2000, you're not just talking about crossing any two old strains! This is That Big-ass Bully x What Dreams are Made Of. Bred from all Dutch lineage, we have collected these strains for further development -- look for them in the future! They're sure to meet again. This strain has very spicey/earthy budds and rates a 9.5 on the potency scale!
White Mr. Nice: (White Haze x Mr. Nice G13 HP) Most likely hybrid stud White Haze's best work, White Mr. Nice reflects the huge bushy G13HP clone mother's growth characteristics enhanced further by the father's stout impending smell. Said to rate around 133 octane when cloned, Mr. Nice G13HP is among the most potent and successful of our recent imports, put together here with highly developed White Haze from our Blue Hen line. Tremendously aromatic buds of absolutely top quality, she will finish in a flourish of energy, long heavy branches of sweet, dense flowers. Hard to go wrong with this new star on the horizon.

Space Queen
Space Queen was the only reason I invested in C99 in the first place. Ever since I heard the description of Soul's princess I knew her and romulan would be the perfect match. Then prototype crosses between P75 and romberry started pumping out the winners that have found keeper status in many select gardens. Each of these keepers exhibit a blend of C99 and romulan characters.
Space Queen is a romulan/C99 hybrid. Flavour and potency are can't misses, both parents are known for their high potency and great highs. Lemon, pine, and pineapple all swirl in a pungent bouquet to tantalize your taste buds!! Roughly 50% have the romulan pine flavour dominating. Flowering time will be comparable to romberry averaging 8 weeks depending on grower and grow environment. Yield can be above average, but she won't be a top production plant. Her growing form will range from a 50/50 sat/indi hybrid to a full blown sativa. Some of the hidden sativa that has come forth in some seedlings have been truly the most pleasant smoke I've experienced. I hope she puts smiles on a few faces
Breeding Status: Variable Hybrid
Flowering: 50 - 60 days
Height: 100-150 cm.
Yield indoors: above average
Suggested growing skill: advanced
Suggested Retail: $75 for 10 seeds
Romberry
Is a very vigorous F1 hybrid of the pure romulan female with a select blueberry male. The hybrid retained the large sticky and stinky buds of the romulan. It gained stronger stems and fruity aroma and taste from the blueberry. Colas should become larger and more frosty than romulan buds seen in Aug. 98 High Times. This one is also very easy to clone.
Breeding Status: Uniform Hybrid
Flowering: 55 - 60 days
Height: 90-140 cm.
Yield indoors: details
Outdoors: In BC a clone planted in July produced 4 ounces high quality buds by the end of October. No sign of budrot, excellent mold resistance.
Suggested growing skill: beginner
Suggested Retail: $60 for 15 seeds
Killer Queen
This is for those looking for raw potency at all costs!! G13 is the very potent mom, and C99 as the pollen source is no slouch either, but it's a guess how they will combine. This is a prototype release to test the waters. G13 should add to the punch, C99 should improve yield and flavour. Plus something caused the g13 clones to produce seeds smaller than I was hoping. Small like the sweet tooth suprise. Reaction to excess UV? So for these two reasons, despite the excellent genetics, I would like to keep the price down. Only enough seeds for 100 orders were sent to market.
Breeding Status: Uniform Hybrid
Flowering: 45 - 55 days
Height: 70-100 cm.
Yield indoors: moderate
Suggested growing skill: moderate
Suggested Retail: $60 for 12 seeds
Beauty and the Beast
The production growers may want to look at this one, it should be a heavy early. Chemo's suspected polyploid nature causes it to just blast off when flowering is initiated, it's mind blowing. Chemo bud is potent with tremendous medical benefits but lack's character. Those suffering from insomnia and bipolar behaviour seem to gain a lot of benefit from my chemo mom. C99 improves the bud quality and the combination has improved chemo's vigour. This strain grows as a single cola and is the best choice in our lineup for those wanting a dedicated SOG plant.
Breeding Status: Uniform Hybrid
Flowering: 45 - 55 days
Height: 70-100 cm.
Yield indoors: above average
Suggested growing skill: moderate
Suggested Retail: $60 for 12 seeds
Orange Crush
The california orange mom is THE legendary clone that sets the standard for all other california oranges to aspire towards. And it has done so for close to two decades. It's super sweet Tang flavour and aroma is unequaled. It's vigour is amazing and it's ease of cloning will vastly be an improvement over the blueberry pollen source on both accounts. The blueberry pollen source speaks for itself and is described below. As with the romulan mother of Romberry, this California Orange clone does very well at low (25-30 watts/foot) light levels. Both California Orange and blueberry parents are harvested between 50 and 60 days depending on taste. Most prefer the earlier end of the spectrum for the added flavour and happier high.
After a thorough testing, the Orange crush was found to be an extremely vigorous hybrid of blueberry dominance. These plants clone and reveg with ease. I hope you enjoy growing them as much as I did.
Breeding status: Uniform Hybrid
Flowering: 50 - 60 days
Height: 90-140 cm.
Yield indoors: moderate to exceptionally high
Suggested growing skill: beginner
Suggested Retail: $30 for 10 seeds
Pink Grapefruit Cocktail
A previous auction item and test cross, this one turned out way too nice to not repeat. I found the buds to be very nice and tight with a healthy covering of frosting that gives them exceptional bag appeal. Because of the tight nature and frosted nature of the flowers, trimming is is a breeze, just pull off the shade leaves and let dry. Grapefruit and pineapple battle for dominance in this sweet tasting blend who's aroma in the flowering room reminds me of the pink grapefruit cocktail fruit juice. Cloning was a snap as was revegging this plant. I found them to be very uniform in my soil garden and picking the best for a clone mom was most difficult. I hope others find this as much a treat as I did.
Breeding Status: Uniform Hybrid
Flowering: 50 - 55 days
Height: 70-100 cm.
Yield indoors: moderate
Suggested growing skill: moderate

Blueberry
Because of it's genetic stability I prefer to call this a second generation blueberry rather than an F2. Parents were purchased from Marc Emery in the winter of 1996. He told me he purchased them from Sagarmatha of Holland. They were described as being "a mostly Indica plant of superior quality. This fast maturing girl produces large, crystallized buds with natural occurring blueish hues. The berry taste is unmistakable and very pleasurable on the palate." This is a bud for those enjoying quality without being knocked out.
Over time, blueberry's phenotype has changed from it's original release. The newer phenotype has wider lighter green leaves. Our BCGA version retains the original deeper green thin leaf phenotype that put blueberry on the map. Being a copy of the original version, this blueberry is exceptional breeding material that brings unsurpassed hybrid vigour and powdery mildew resistance to it's offspring. Anyone interested in making blueberry hybrids should make this their first choice for their blueberry.
Growers should expect some of the seedlings to start out twisted and variegated as this is a normal trait for this variety. Most seedlings out grow this as they mature. This pure version of blueberry is not the best choice for those looking for a blueberry production plant. The best blueberry production plants are blueberry hybrids such as Orange Crush.
Breeding Status: Purebreeding

The grapefruit/blueberry hybrid will not be a regular BCGA item. It is just a cross to share with others. Any funds generated will be donated to a cause not yet decided on. The grapefruit clone mom is the matriarch of many outstanding seedlines such as sweet pink grapefruit, sweet tooth, mikado, cotton candy, and the list goes on. Buds from this clone are what won an informal but star laden BC minicup a couple summers ago. The grapefruit blueberry combo is a proven winner with the Sweet Tooth line. The blueberry pollen source is the BCGA version of blueberry. A very limited number will get to sample this one.
Both parents are fast in the flower room and should be harvested between 45 and 55 days depending on personal tastes. Buds will be a sweetly aromatic combination of blueberry and grapefruit. Although there is much indica (afghani) influence in both parents, they both have very uplifting highs reminiscent of their suspected thai ancestry. Creating and selecting from the F2s of these seeds should keep a connoisseur grower satisfied for decades ;-)
Grapefruit Bx1
This is a prototype release of the BCGA version of the popular Sweet Tooth. Grapefruit has an excess of sickly sweet pink grapefruit flavour and an unbeatable and powerful indica sativa combination in the potency department. The cured buds simply can't be beat. The only downside is that grapefruit only performs efficiently in a few environments, it need more vigour to be suitable to more growers. Therefore, using the unique BCGA blueberry genetics, we crossed select blueberry males with the legendary grapefruit clone. We selected the best of these hybrid males and bred them back to the grapefruit clone to create the first backcross. By backcrossing once we exposed more of the desired grapefruit traits while maintaining the vigour provided by the blueberry.
I am getting ready to test this test cross and am looking for feedback from other growers growing under a wide range of environments. Therefore I'm going to initially release 10 lots of 15 seeds each to the auction. Using these auction lots, we are also going to test out some changes to the way BCGA genetics are packaged and shipped. There is the possibility that a second set of 10 lots will be released.

ESB
This isn't really a BCGA strain. It is a hybrid that a friend donated to help raise some cash for the legal problems of another friend. He is a UK grower who likes his sativas, and crossed one of his best (ES) with a blueberry male. ES was made about 24 years ago between some Nigerian brought back from Africa and an early version of skunk No. 1 sent from California. Es is the strongest thing he has and says "often causing a complete white out, its like a roller coaster ride". He grew out the ESB and romberry side by side, here was his comments to me " If and when you grow out some es blue, early ones finish in about 50 to 55 days strength similar to the better Romberry's (5.5/10) I grew but more up. I have had the odd early ESB go hermy as a warning. The later ones take 65 to 70 days and are much much stronger (8/10) but with a very happy stone" They all taste nice the late ones have a lot more up reminiscent of the Nigerian in its past, it lasts for a good long while and has e
Yield the overall plant average was 43.25 g or 86.5 per sq ft @ 50w/ft

The suprises
************ The suprises are now sold out at bcga and they will hopefully be discontinued, barring any future suprises, hehe. Thanks everyone for the incredible support with these. I wasn't going to offer them, but after all the positive "suprise" feedback, I'm glad I got talked into it. Thanks again!! ********************
I have a small breeding room and then a larger production sinse flowering room. What I usually do is start flowering in the production room and then conduct pollination and seed set in the breeding room for 2 weeks. I then destroy the males and mist down the pregnant girls to kill any lingering pollen. Next, I move the pregnant girls to the production room to finish maturing the seeds. Well somehow the sinse crop got mildly seeded. All I can figure is that the air pressures changed and pollen from my veg and/or breeding room escaped into the production flower room. This means that I cannot guarantee who pollenated who and therefore not guarantee the outcome of the resulting seeds. What I can say is none of the seeds were the result of hermies (1 minor exception) and that all the pollen donors were present because I wanted to use them in breeding. This is with the exception of the peruvian sativa which I was testing out for Heavan's Stairway and I wasn't suposed to use in breeding (not mine to use).
The males who shed pollen during this period were:
blueberry (BCGA)
romberry (BCGA)
durban poison (dutch passion via Amsterdam cafe in Vancouver)
peruvian sativa (heavan's stairway)
Sweet Tooth (Spice of Life via Bongblaster)
Romulan Strawberry Blonde (Spice of Life via Bongblaster)
Princess 75 (MrSoul via friend on internet)**
** this was the minor hermie exception and wasn't a real hermie or a major pollen contributor. It's genes will only be found in a few romulan suprise seeds. It was the result of a challange that the princess line was not capable of sex reversal. I threw everything I had (GA, ozone, light, and drought stresses) at 4 seperate clones and finally one switched shedding a little viable pollen. As I'm the only one to document sex reversal in the princess/cinderella line I don't feel there is anything to worry about here.
Well as a result of all this I have a series of limited edition suprise seeds to offer. I expect much variation but all seeds were from excellent genetics so there should be many excellent plants to choose from. With each description I can only describe the mothers. These suprises would all be far better choices for beginning budget minded growers than the above blueberry.
Romulan Suprise - The same mom that was used to make romberry. A proven winner that produces a very high end stinky bud in 10 weeks. This is an original pure romulan that is true breeding. Therfore, I expect this batch of suprises to be the best of the lot to choose from if your looking for yield and potency at the expense of a little longer flower time. Suggested Retail: 10 for $30
Romberry suprise - Description for romberry is above. About half of these are from the production leader RBL-4 which is the heaviest yielder of more than 200 romberry seedlings flowered to date. For those who have yield as a primary concern, this should be the better choice of the suprises. Suggested Retail: 20 for $30
Sweet Tooth suprise - Well I was really impressed with these Spice of Life genetics. Unfortanately, because of the heavy seed set I wasn't able to fairly rate the buds against the other keepers in the garden and will have to wait until I'm finished a second crop curently under way. I do have the grapefruit mother clone from which sweet tooth (.75grapefruit) was derived and it is a proven winner that produces high end buds in about seven weeks. Grapefruit won last summer's BC mini cup, beating out romulan. From the looks of the sweet tooth buds, this should be the lowest yielder of the suprises but be amongst the more potent. Suggested Retail: 20 for $30
Romulan/Strawberry Blonde suprise - Well, sweet tooth impressed me but this bunch is by far the best seeds that I've ever purchased. They were vigourous, healthy, and more uniform than I expected considering the parentage. They were also fairly impressive yield wise, producing large heavily crystallized fruity smelling buds. From the shorter flowering time, heavy crystallization, and persoanl knowledge of Vancouver's romulan source, I suspect that the romulan grandparent was actually a romulan/white widow hybrid that flowered in eight weeks. Some very excellent genetics in this mix. Suggested Retail: 20 for $30
Durban Poison suprise - well this is a tough one. In my low light garden, this plant produced tastey but unimpressive medium potency buds. It also looks more like an indica than a sativa. However, I handed out clones to others growing under more conventional lighting (40-60 watts/ft) and they were very impressed with it overall. They figured that the spicy flavour made it a natural christmas crop. Also, many outdoor growers of this plant have also had only good things to say about it. So if your growing under the big light or lots of watts, this may be an interesting one to play with. Suggested Retail: 20 for $30

That was a lot of reading.
Not sure where all of that came from though, I don't think I ever saw a brand in there.

Nirvana
Papaya-8 weeks flower. Thick heavy cola and good branching. More indica. One of my fav's very couch lock if grown right. Stron fruity smell.
Hawwian X Skunk- 8 weeks flower. Mostly sativa. Watch out it can get away from ya if not flowered early. Grows very tall but does well inside and lots of branching. nice smell but not strong. A good buzz for the person on the go.
Those are my two but just tried some widow and purp's. They were good.
This is kind of like pokemon, you just got to try them all.
