    Plant Dying!!! Brown spots

Hi I have a young plant which is 4 weeks old and is grown in normals everyday compost in my conservatory which does not normally get very hot, when it does I move it outside. I water it with normal tap water every couple of days making sure the soil is not too wet (with no nutrients), but for some reason the lower leaves have brown spots appearing on them which then consume the whole leaf, and then wilts downwards and dies. This then happens to the leaves above and so on until the plant dies (This only started a few days ago) . I have attached a pic of the lower leaf of what it looks like now and i will add another pic on a few days.

If anyone has any ideas that may help me it would be great appreciated as I have already lost one plant with thing. Thanks for your time. Daniel

At first glance looking at your information here, my immediate question would be do you know the Ph of your soil or your tap water? If you are using home compost is there some sort of Ph buffer in it like dolomite lime? Do you have anything in the soil like perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage and what if anything is the function of all the rocks on your container?

My best guess is that you are using soil in which the ph is either way too high or way too low leaving the plants in a lockout situation where they can't uptake the nutes from the soil.

    Check out this threadhttp://boards.cannabis.com/plant-pro...hy-how-do.html

It should give you a good comprehension of what I'm talking about.

that's a good place to start.

    fill out the troubleshooting form.

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)

    Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. (MH, HPS, CFL's, tube fluorescents, LED's)
    .2) Distance from tops?
.3) Reflector type? (cool tube set-up, bat wing, enclosed reflector, bare bulb...)
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply?
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan?
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule?

    Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)
    .8) Size of container.

    Your nutrients and water:
.9) Source of water. (tap or filtered) What's it's ph?
    10) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
    11) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...)
    12) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.
    13) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
    14) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)
    15) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
    16) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
    17) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?

    Your growroom:
    18) Indoors or outdoors?
    19) What size of closet, room or hut?
    20) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?
    21) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?

    Your strain:
    22) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)
    23) From seeds or clones?

That looks alot like heat damage to me. What temps are you getting in the heat of the day?

Just curious, what exactly in that pic spells out heat damage to you?

It's most likely heat damage because of the irregular brown spotting that shows on the leaf. It's either that or bugs are sucking the juices from the bottom side of the leaf. That can also appear as random brown spotting, as the bugs attack without any direction to them and can kill small areas of leaves. But the heat damage idea is good too as that is exactly what heat damage looks like.
pH actually tends to be the least of a grower's worries, provided the soil and nutes are good. The only symptom I've ever seen in a plant with pH problems is they simply stop growing. But then I've never seen an advanced case of imbalanced pH either.

ph is generally the start of cannabis growers whoas because of all the nonsoil media, many plnts have a ph prob which usually results in lower yeild
but i dont believe this is ur prob but its a good place to start

fill out the form for a good response

as of now without the form im gonna say the cl in your tap is locking out some mag but thats just a possibility, i could probly come up with some wild ones also till the form is filled out

Looks like bugs to me. Take a magnifying glass and look for little black spots that move around on the bottom side of the leaves. (spider mites, possibly?)

Do you spray the leaves with anything? If so...what? Also, if so...stop now.

In a pot with straight compost? Bugs love compost, and it's a terrible potting medium. Can suffocate and burn the roots, or not hold moisture and prevent nutrient uptake. What did the last plant's roots look like? Regardless, if they are in straight compost, you'll need to find some decent potting soil asap. One with perlite for good areation and drainage.

Taking a plant from inside to outside and back is a good way to introduce bugs to your houseplants, and your guests, and pets, and cupboards...(roaches and spiders love to crawl into the drip tray for shelter and food)

Watering your lady is important. Make sure you get moisture to the lower root zones, or it will restrict root growth.

Is that a spider web on the lower part of the leaf?

Might want to check the FAQ section and learn some tips for soil, nutrients, water, ph...

Dude that looks like mites... My tomato plants get them alot so I've seen what the leafs look like when they attack. Most likely its some kind of bug.
