How much light after germination?
600 watt bulb is too vague of a description, is it CFL (compact fluorescent), HPS (High Pressure Sodium), MH (Metal Halide), Incandescent (standard home bulb)?
If your only starting them inside for a short period, all you need are cfls; the little spiral bulbs you see being advertised as much more efficient, which they are. I'd say minimum 1 per plant but more would be better. Usually they're around 23 watts or so each the ones you find in stores like walmart and other alike stores.
If its possible, it'd be really helpful to find out what kind of light you have exactly. Chances are even if its the right bulb your seedlings won't need the massive amount of light 600 watts will provide (young plants are sensitive to the extreme light and conditions hps and mh systems provide)
yea i no de cfl's i seen them the other day they are around 20 watts or so, shud i start off with one of these lights a few inches away from the plant? only 1 out of my 5 made it to the planting stage
so i only have 1 to look after now, i picked up a standard home bulb (100w) the kinda one u put up in a room or in a desklamp, wud this do the trick for just the 1 plant for the 4-6th week indoors? all advice appreciated lads as i can seem myself goin back into de head store for more seeds
