I'm about 3.5 weeks into my first plant ever grown. got some advice, some mixed soil and a light from a growing buddy of mine thats on this site. He also gave me a bunch of seeds. I popped them, and ended up putting 10 into plugs, only 4 took off, and once they were put into containers only 1 survived. Here is where im at, 18/6 cycle under a 48 watt T5 HO fixture for about 3.5 weeks. I water it about every other day (when my put my finger 2nd knuckle deep into the dirt and its not moist)
I think its a female, I know its a little early to truly know but what do you guys think? I'm about to get 12/12 going, think im/the plant is ready?Grenade Reviewed by Grenade on . you can flip it to flower but you probably want to get more light!

Curious why you're stripping all the undergrowth off the plant...? Not recommended unless there is a specific goal in mind. Every branch you cull and every leaf you remove, makes it more difficult for the plant to photosynthesize and grow.

Ahh. Not at all what you want to see.
Without filling-out the troubleshooting form, it's a shot in the dark diagnosis, but likely Headshake is correct in mentioning the insufficient lighting. Would be a good idea to add some supplimental CFL's for side-lighting so you won't lose all the undergrowth before switching to 12/12. You'd be amazed what a few extra lumens will do.

thanks for the advice on more lighting! I put 2 4' florescent fixtures with phillips 48 watt full spectrum sunlight tubes (4 of them) the plant is LOVING it. Ive been keeping it at 24/0 since making the box on 7/9/09- its doubled in size. amazing what a little light will do

I also have 2 new plants in dirt. they started as seeds, i'm not sure what strain yet because I was given a bunch of seeds at once and only these 2 made it. in the above pictures its the black containers on either end. they are doing great.
how long should I wait before putting the clones under 12/12? I'm really anxious to find out if my first plant is a boy or girl.
