to also answer another question, i honestly have no idea about other plant genera. this is really my first forray into plants, but like i said it has peaked my curiousity to no end.

OldMac: Bromeliads are COOL! I think those roots are called epiphytic roots? I'm not quite sure, but bromeliads are cool because they absorb a lot of their water using their trichomes!

Shake: You should definitely check out the orchidaceae family! google orchids, seriously. They are so easy to grow and take care of and they look sooooo cool

i'm looking into botany programs. the local community college local to me has a biotechnology program but it was only a two year degree. weak! so i'm gonna start my basics and find a school to transfer there.

If I may throw a suggestion your way.

If you're not looking to make some really good and close college friends, I suggest you do all of your generals at a community college for cheap and then attend a 4 year college that accepts your credits and then hit your degree hardcore after having all of your generals done for WAY cheaper than if you were to do it all at a 4 year institution.

good and close college friends would be cool, but i'm old, have pretty good friends and am somewhat anti-social.

although i must admit i would love to have the college experience.
