Exactly! When some Pharisees tried exorcizing a demon in the Gospel, using the name of Christ to drive the spirit out, it mocked them. The demon knew who Jesus was, and many of these so-called "ghost" encounters are just fallen angels screwing with the heads of mystics. Anyhow, the demon told the Pharisee, "Paul and Peter, I know. Jesus, I know of, but who are you?" And then the possessed man proceeded to attack the Pharisees and drove them from the house naked and screaming.

As Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruit." Again, you have to listen to what's being said and test it against what is known to be true.
