Now I understand the basic concept of cloning, the cut made on one of the lower nodes, but I had some questions.
1) can these clones be preserved somehow and for how long?
2) can i clone my plant once i find out if she is definitely female?
3)Will i need a seperate room to put the clone in under 18/6? I have limited space and currently am in 12/12 so would i need to switch it or can i keep it under that?

Basically, in a nutshell, i'm just not sure on these cloning processes. I want to avoid having male plants in future grows so i want to be able to clone, but i need to know how the lighting needs to be. My plant currently has about a little over a month to go with the 12/12 so I'm not sure what to do now.
Thank you

  1. I've read somewhere in these forums (I think Killas purple grow) that he kept his clones in the refrigerator for a good bit of time.
  2. You can clone your plants once it's mature (alternating nodes/about 1 month). Just be sure to take a nice size one and not some dinky 2 inch clone that will take longer to grow bigger. That's just me though.
  3. Yes, you will need a separate room for them. Place them in a humidity dome under 24/0 light schedule for about 10 days until it roots, then you can just put them into your grow room under 12/12 if you'd like. I mean, you CAN put them under 12/12 the whole time, but me personally, I don't recommend it. Also, best to put them under some low intensity fluorescent lights. Also, if possible, place some type of heating mat underneath them to keep the roots warmer and shoot for humidity of 85%-90%.
