What Does ROOT BOUND mean and what does it look like ??

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a small prob with a plant, but after reading the forums i had come to the conclusion it was prob over neut, or poss over watering,
But the plant is prob almost 3 foot now and the roots have come out of the holes in the bottom of the pot and are sort of sitting in the drip tray, its been like this for a while now with no probs, But now ive seen this thing called root bound !!! bit worried that this maybe the prob i have,
Leaves slight curl and slightly tinted yellow, no as bad as any pics ive seen thou, and i may have been miricle growing them a bit to often, ( watering with that gear)
Ive only just put them on a 12/12 cycle today,
Think poss should have done this sooner, but is my first attempt,
Will get a few pics later today,
    Any advice would be great
She is under 1200w of light, one high sodim the other a norm grow light i think, again not sure if this is mega light 4 one plant, just wanted to give her the best chance poss to get mass

If you're going to transplant, do it now before your plants start to flower.

How big is the pot they are in now?

She is in a 20cm by 20cm pot (8 inch by 8 inch)
Am pretty sure ive been watering her a lil too much with that mircle grow soultion stuff, so just flushed her thru with rain water and was gonna let her settle for a few days but just keep an eye on her,
Is it possible that i may have too much light getting reflected ?
Up untill a few days ago just had the lights etc on her, but now i tin foiled the whole area around her, well the place she lives in. It isnt mega close to the plant but seams to be twice if not more bright in there, also i have a fan on her 24 hours a day, think i saw some where that they can get some kind of burn from fans also ?

Tin foil isn't recommended. Some say it makes hot spots on your plant and will burn them....especially if you're using HPS.

Your pots are prob too small. I would move up to a 3 or 5 gal pot. The roots will grow a great deal in the first few weeks of 12/12 still and you don't want to be transplanting once flowering has begun.

Don't have the fan blowing right on or through your plants. It will make condensation on your plants and could rot them.

Have the fan directed at your light and blowing across the canopy of your plants to get rid of the heat between the light and plants.

Great thanks i will lose the tin foil stright away,
So you would move her to a bigger pot yea ?
Also just noticed, (sorry to drive you mad)
I have two 600w lights on her one has a canope refletor and the other just hangs, the hanging one is in a ceramic fitting but the top part is clearly plastic, as its melted and just about to fall, lucky i caught it (sigh in relife)
once the bulb has cooled down what should i do ?
shall i get a reflector for that bulb also ? or is there anyway to fix the fitting i have ? Just as the one thats melted is the better bulb i think,
I will take some pics in the next few hours to give you some idea
    THANKS AGAIN

She really did get much worse while i was posting on here, Then after i re poted her i thought she was end of, I am not gonna check on her again untill she has had a few hours light tomoz, as i am hoping this will help and the fact that its her bed time is another reason she looks so poorly
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MORE THAN GOOD
    Cheers

Looks pretty sad, but I don't grow in soil so I can't say for sure. However, if your roots are coming out the bottom of the plant, that surely means she needs a larger pot.

Also, is that how your HID is hanging, just dangling by the wire like that, or is it just to show us the light you are using? If its dangling, that doesn't look very safe. If the light falls and breaks - which is very likely hanging it like that from a single wire- it could start a fire. Grow smart and be safe.

Sorry I wasn't able to respond sooner, my net connection was down all night.

Ok, safety first here...I must agree with Dejayou...if that light falls and breaks, you have a good chance for a fire.

Wow, those are some sick looking girls. You might be killing them with kindness. Looks like you over fed them. Or your PH could be out of scope.

What are you feeding them and how much? Check the ph of your runoff water to see if it's within range.

I would only water them with 1/4 strength nutes and see what happens with the new growth over the next 2 weeks.
