I'm really not trying to be anal about it, but I have practical experience with this. One night my wife and I watched our lawnmower blenny splash just a little water out of the back of the aquarium. Couldn't have been more than a couple of drops. We mentioned to each other that maybe we should cover the opening better, but didn't really put much more thought into it. A few minutes later I was outside, and saw the fire climbing up behind the tank. The tank lights never went out, yet the GFCI was on fire.
