Well, apparently due the economy federal funding and many of the states have cut the money for those expensive little helicopter joyrides. They'll only be flying over when tipped off. But generally growing in groups of 2 or 3 and topping them so they aren't the typical christmas tree they're trained to look for is a big help. I also plant where they get enough sun but good coverage, make it hard for the bastards.

Maybe something that acts like a tinted window. It allows light completely through but blocks anything from above to see into it.
